Dunno if there is a similar topic, but I'm interested. From where did your nickname come from, why did you choose that, and would you change it, if it wasn't usual already?
I chose this because I really like card games (so, not from Batman, hell no), mostly poker, which doesn't contains the Joker, that's why. Writing it with only small letters, and double o-s makes it a bit unique. I also use thejoliejooker on other forums.

There was a topic like this a couple years ago, but it might be useful with the new members around.
I took mine from Bleach. "Mugetsu" is one of the sword techniques I guess you could call it, and I obsessed over it so much at the time I adopted it as my new nickname.
Turns out that there's also a character called Mugetsu in the Touhou games, who's got a sister called Gengetsu so sometimes I take that as my nickname if Mugetsu isn't available.

My nickname was from a robot in a movie called Tekkouki Mikazuki . I think it have cool meaning behind it too.

I'm just in sync with my womenly side.. Okay for real, I just looked out of the window when registering, in retrospect it was a good decision because I like using variation in stunting styles and all colors. My xbox tag and other names usually come from boulders (just as my video titles lately and in the future) or are variations on the name Dabreu, which was the first name to come out of the name generator in CS:S. So I sometimes use things like Mr. Dabreu or Fgt. Dabreu and such. :ajaja:

Asked another member what I should call myself, he suggested Darkstar, which he took from a skateboard company. As for Simon, it's my name, but the reason I changed it was to confuse people, as Brainkiller signed up as Simon on the temp forums :D

I grew up on Jazz Jackrabbit 2, where when I wanted to save the game I could only use 3 letters as a name (if I remember correctly), so I used the first 3 letters of my forename: Domonkos -> Dom. during the years I figured out it means dumb, stupid, house and so on, but I don't care, I will use it as long as I play games. except when it is already reserved, which is the case in 90% of the time. then I just stick to Domgtas, because I have no goddamn idea what else to name myself, even though I no longer stunt. my characters in WoW have nothing to do with my name, though.
E: also I could only use 3 letters on these various yellow-cassette TV games as my name (no idea what that thing was called so I just call it like this)

Had this nickname since 2005 for when I played online games, they are the first letter of my name and surname: Lautaro Tobias Acevedo Barnés (Used to have a "249" in the end, which was my street number, but took it off arround 2011 I think)
Now I switch sometimes to Toby Arglau in some places whenever I feel like, which is my alias for music. Toby for Tobias, Arg for Argentina and lau for Lautaro. :P

People around me called me "Enej" or "Erni" since primary school, actually since I was 7, because of my name Ernest, after a few years it sound shit to me, then I changed it to Erney. I always used that nick, use and I will. In games I used to put stupid pokemons like 3rney etc. That's all about my nick. : o

My hockey coach call me 1st as numero uno when i was nominated to national hockey team... i was 1st player from our club who was ever nominated and also i was the 1st player who was nominated under his leadership.And when we were with team on match cca 200km away from our city so he forgot me there and he leave me there alone when i was 10 year old:D it's long story about my nickname but that nick is part of my life! my family, friends calls me only numero it's like my real name :wub:

I've had a fuckload of names mostly in the first two years of being on the forum. started out as Dave-2k6 since it was 2006 at the time and my name is David. Had it changed to Tsunami since the PC case I had at the time had the word Tsunami on it. After that it was AtomiK for a short while, then Aeneon since that name was the brand of RAM I had and then Synergy after the SoBe Synergy drink since I thought the can design was cool. Eventually at the end of 07 I picked Blaze since I had this PS2 Cheat disk thing called the Xploder Blaze or something, and I was like fuck it why not even though there was already a guy called Blaz3 at the time.

I basically had my name since 2006. My sisters ex-boyfriend showed me a chat-game named the Netstation.
And his good friend named Patrick inside the chat was NoLimit. And I always wanted to be named like that I kept it since.
Now it's probably overused, since there are so many nicknames with "No" in front. Almost every user I have is NoLimit. I'm proud of it,
because I know that it's so tempting so change your name all the time. It's like your pet. It dies if you don't take care of it.
The more you change your name all the time, the more you get tired of your current name. I got a friend who changed his nickname over 50 times.
He's always been in love with my nickname, but he won't get it, haha ;)

Me and two other guys of my old circle of friends had the same first name, so we decided to call each other by last name. Mine is Rusch and many people are still calling me by that in reality. The 69 added up somewhere in the earlier days of MTA SA and I don't remember what the cause was. I've always been using Rusch(69) from what I recall.

Rust > I was having a conversation about life with Determined and I asked him for some pictures to set them as a profile one and he sent me a Katatonia picture called Rusted and I/he thought "Rust" could be good to use it and here I am :P.

The story of the worst nickname in GTAS as become one long time ago, probably more than eight years.
I was playing Counter-Strike 1.6 with my cousin and my nickname was sh00t3r, but the brazilian players are really idiots about this kind of nicknames so some people was making jokes with my nickname and one day i was thinking to change. My cousin is one really crazy programator and look the shit that he said in the day that i was going to change my nickname 'in the OS Linux there is one important file with the Name NAMED, isn't a nice nick for you Richard?', well i was 12 years old and i liked, so i started to use the crap nickname in this day. Actually i only use this nick in this forum, only for stunting, because in CS i use rick = Richard (my name).

Back when I was a kiddo, I was having a pizza with a slovak stunter. I looked at the menu and saw "Pizza Formaggi", I don't remember the whole situation, but somehow I thought about "Promagic". :lol:

the first place i made an account was back in like 05-06 and i needed to come up with a name. since i was in my "omg cars are awesome"-phase back then i nicknamed myself totally random to bmwpower91. shortly after, when i first developed a conciousness about having a proper name, i changed my name to darkslide due to being my favorite skateboard-trick which i managed to pull off once in my life.
around the time i was doing watch this with taz, i then changed again since my name appeared stupid and tryhard-to-be-cool so i just decided to change it something that is really me. inspired by my dad, who used to use his initials "AL" when he was playing games with me back then, i finally changed to "JL" for good which are nothing but my initials. also i think it sounds cool. if the name is unavailable somewhere ill just use variations like "jaylawl" or "JLOL". those are almost never taken :)

Zudi(my irl nickname), Flippy, Hit, Hit-X(x was cool when I was 13 lol), TwiX(still cool), Draken, Kinley (my favourite CoD2 nick), Alien(fucking unique) aaand thats all. Sweet memories, goddamnit. :lol:
Daksad is kinda random though, when I was younger I thought your name and the Darkness&Kaneda duo's name Darkan, is the same. What inspired you?

E: I released my first two stunting videos under the name Latzabb. Latsabb means 'lazy bum' in norwegian (switched s for z since youtube username latsabb was taken). On PSN my name is latsabb- :P

I had a lot of nicknames before I actually sticked to Anoobis for the while I have been, such as Lebowski, Slam, SlamBam, K-Pain, ^xXxTRACExXx^ Heff@Gent and what not.
Anoobis, because I am a massive shitter in ego-shooters (except TF2) and since all my cool friends only played ego-shooters I had to force myself onto them and let them endure my pain of being really shit at aiming. That was also when I was a Yu-Gi-Oh enthusiast and had some sort of interest in Egyptian lore. There was this guy called Anubis, and I thought meh why not call yourself Anoobis because you are shit.
After 8 years of having that nickname I kind of grew tired of it. All the jokes that were had with that name got really old and I felt like I needed a new name.
After bashing my keyboard numerous times (not really) I came up with Asaaj and have stuck with it ever since, eventhough people still either call me Anoobis or Kai. Life sucks

Listened to a lot of Pendulum. From that came Pendum. Eventually turned into Pendy, and since the cool thing in 6v6 TF2 was having a finnish sounding name, I went with Pendji. People still somehow forget to put a D in there, I don't know why that feels more natural to people.
Bazrun was some shit I came up with for a WoW character I didn't even stick with.

Interesting topic really. really dumb stories from my side. had a friend I wanted to start a crew w/ and he started with m.g dawg or something, i couldn't think of anything and he said something like "such a noob" in a joking way so it ended up being nubie (also was on wow w/ this name)
then moved on to "act," no clue how.
finally nerve, was a world of warcraft character name; originally sava. kinda have wanted to change it again and stick with it but i guess this will have to do - just some feeling i have that's all "you changed your name too many fucking times" (i have)

I have only explained this to like 2 people in my life but fuck it, people always are curious as to why I had the name "missdirection"
I was missdirection because when I first joined gtas under the name "rise" I made a video that everyone shit on. They were pretty hard on me and I was a newb. So I got the bright idea (when I was much younger) to make an unbelievable solo and make people think I was a girl, just to troll. So I came up with the name "missdirection" . Problem was, I got what I wanted. It wasn't exactly an "unbelievable" solo, but for the time, it was pretty good. And 40k views on youtube was considered viral for a stunt vid back in 2006. Never did tell anyone I was a female :P
So because of that video I was stuck with that name, because that was how I was known. I have made attempts to change it over the years but I always came back to it. People still call me MD. That's just how i'm known and it's ok.
The name "dirtybird" I have used on the [NoV] sa-mp server for about 8 years now, and I finally merged it together with GTAS. I also have used "dirtybird" on my PS network since 2007.

I've probably already told it in some other topic, but mine comes from VC and Ricardo Diaz :lol: It's weird to think back because I'm basically very different from that guy and I don't like him either but somehow his name caught my attention and I was in need of a name so I chose this quickly. Some said there was already a stunter called Diaz and I was told this name is bad but I kept using this one, never really thought of changing.

When I first joined here in 2006, I was "greendaygta" (cringey af, I know) After lurking a few years I was not a fan of it. I changed to "Trialz".
Trialz accomadates to my gaming name "Trialz Of Death" which is a name of a book I was heavy into at the time. The series is called Cirque Du Freak.
My brother picked it out for me when I first got into XBL in 2008 when I was in 6th grade (13 years old). I liked it ever since for the past 7 years.

The story of my nickname is pretty simple. I wanted something not so usual, but something what would be related to me: My real name is "Paulo" in portuguese, the same as "Paul" in english, so I made a junction of this with the first letter of my surname that is "Lima", forming "Paull" :P

My real name is Samuel so I just picked the 'Sa' and added 'lyn'. Later on I decided to write it with Caps because it looked better for me but on 2012, when I registered League of Legends I wasn't able to choose the name SALYN so I just added another N.
Since I went to a lot of tournaments and got to be known in my city for SALYNN I decided to "officially" change it to that although I was still with the nickname 'Salyn' in the Aero Reapers - Hello video because I was too lazy to ask someone to change it :P
I asked Simon to change my nickname here after that video.

Well, it started out with a friend whom I first talked to on SA-MP (where I began stunting late 2005). We got to meet up, hang out and so on; eventually, he hit me up with the nickname 'PK'. What it stands for remains a mystery that only him and I know, and from then and there - everyone just went by PK.
However, a misconception that PKDR4G0N ohgodno was my nickname and I just brought it down from there. False indeed, I just added the 'DR4G0N' since YouTube doesn't accept two lettered names. I changed to PKMusicDJ on YouTube because I managed to accidentally delete all my videos (+50 uploads, where I had a 50-100kb/s upload speed). Decided to have more quality in this channel, soso.
This is weird, but the 'DR4' was meant to be drift and 'G0N' as gone; I had a weird creativity at childhood.

At that time I was a VCMP player and used the nickname called [VC]Mario (Why I use Mario as a nickname? :lol: long time ago when I was playing VC, in Diaz's mansion yard I heard a conversation among the man of Diaz. I just heard a sentence reads like “hey you get the way out, Mario”. While I was ready to think of a nickname before playing VCMP I firstly thought out that conversation with “Mario”, so I decided to use Mario for sure LOL)
At the begining of my stunting career I used Mario for my stunting nickname and after some months I just added Johnson front onto Mario(Johnson Mario) Finally I changed it as J.Mario because JohnsonMario is a fuckin looong nickname :P

Do not expect Mugetsu to give an interesting explanation because he never gathers one. If I am not mistaken, PtRvY gave the explanation of his name which if I am not mistaken (again) was chosen because of how people called him in real life.
