[MTS] PtRvY

Meet The Stunter - PtRvY

Are you satisfied with BT's development and is there anything you regret doing related to it? (Rusch69)
Well, as with all crews, especially for ones that have been around for as long as four years, there were ups and downs. I think that in retrospect the crew has definitely improved. I mean, it got founded by a guy who just got rejected for Visual ProX - in the beginning nobody predicted a long life for it, and in the end it grew as one of the most influential editing crews around (people may argue this, but there's no denying that some of the best stunt video productions from 2008 onwards were produced by BT members). As for the second part of your question, I do regret a few of my decisions, like letting in some people who maybe at the time weren't really ready for it (although most if not all of my decisions were decided on a majority voting), but I have to say that I'm very happy with the current line-up of the crew and I wouldn't change a lot with it.

Is there someone from the past you really miss and would like to locate? (This could mean IRL or on GTAS) (Sheeptea)
As far as real life goes, all the people I was on great terms with I generally never lost contact with. Speaking of GTA Stunting people though, I haven't had a chance to speak to Aproxx in a long while. We had some great talks back in the days and he still is one of my biggest influences in stunting.

Why do you prefer solely grind method not even trying a bigair stunt once? (Basium)
The main reason why I decided (sometime in mid-08) that I want to primarily perform grinds, was the fact that at that time the general untrust in bigair stunts got started around GTAS - especially just prior to being shoved back to the temporary forums. A lot of the people that were my good friends and that stunted with me in some videos got accused for modding. I didn't really fancy being called out for stuff like that so I decided I stick to stunts that look good but wouldn't cause anyone to suspect me for modding, for whatever reason, and those kinds of stunts were mostly grinds. However, what really solidified my opinion about this was after I got in ESU and got a chance to talk with Aproxx who was like my biggest inspiration at the time. He barely did anything but grinds and got a lot of appreciation for his style. I guess that I kind of subconsciously "shifted" my mind to those kinds of stunts as well, and ultimately I assume I received some kind of appreciation myself.

How do you feel about stealing two of my stunts? (PrzemOO)
Ah, I do know one of them is the sandking bump to precision. I honestly feel bad about that but it wasn't much of a stunt anyways. And as for the other one I'm not sure what it was... you're referring to that one entry in the SBL#5? As for that, I'm pretty sure my execution was way different from yours man as I used a different vehicle, don't really feel like I stole that from you (I actually didn't really know where I saw that stunt before, back when I first attempted it for that league).

What kept you motivated throughout your stunting era? (Tornado)
Well the thing which inspired me to land new stuff was mostly when I see a good stunt in a video. I immediately think about a way I could improve that stunt (by including new elements in it for example), or even pull off something similar elsewhere. I mean, it's obvious even from the fact that my (arguably) best stunt is a carbon copy of KillaMarci's method, just performed at a larger scale. Apart from that I was also of course motivated by all of my crewmates throughout the years, I really met some of the most amazing people on GTAS, in all the crews I've been in. Particularly in DV, the pace and chemistry we had there was immense and was a pure injection of motivation for all of us.

Are there any causes you strongly believe in? Do you contribute to any charity?  (Sheeptea)
My answer to both would be no, at the moment. I do intend to contribute to some charities later on though.

In your time in the community, which member has stood out to you the most? (Blaze)
There are a lotta people that I'm sure I would get along with greatly had they been my RL friends, but the way I interpreted this question, I'd rather just separate some people who I noted as the most exemplary on this forum. For me it'd be a very tight battle between RedX, Hoff, Killerstunter and MaCi. Three of them already won the member of the year awards, and all of them completely deserve it. Their actions on the forums have always set a great example to everyone around here and they are truthfully some of the most helpful people around you can find.

When will you come to Switzerland again? (MxZz.)
Haha mate, I'm not sure. I do not have it planned at the moment to be honest. However I am definitely sure I want to go there in the future, so don't worry, it's lodged somewhere in my mind. ;P

What stunt are you most proud of? (Mikeymouse)
The stunts that really stand out in my mind are the ones that I had thought of for a long time, and that really took me a while to land. I assume that the stunts I'm proudest of could be my Sjubergaali finisher, like man I spent hours on that, not even expecting it to happen... then suddenly it did! I was like, STAY ON THAT GRIND PETAR DON'T YOU DARE FALL OFF. And of course my rotation grind from dv - excellencE, my only stunt to date to be nominated for stunt of the year.

What got you to start stunting? (Simon)
http://www.youtube.com/willzyyy
This guy is simply amazing, I got into GTA moviemaking in general after watching some of his videos, signed up on his forums, chatted with him a little, and in the end started up a crew with him and Krypton. Ah, those were the days.

Do you get nostalgic whenever you watch CSC - The Art Of Improvement? Did you ever imagine at that time that you'd not only stick with stunting/editing, but become as acknowledged & memorable as you are now? (Determined)
Haha, can't say I get nostalgic at that video, I considered that to be really horrible even for the time it was released. I mean it sure is nice to sometimes reminisce over how bad I used to be, but damn that was bad. I rather get nostalgic watching my five auditions to BT - now that's what you call persistence. And I could hardly imagine being as acknowledged as I am now... seriously, who ever did at that stage in their 'careers'?

Anything else you want to say to the community?
I'd like to thank the community for picking me to be the first person to be interviewed for this kickstart of MTS, and in general for all the support I've been getting all this time. I hope that this series will have much more interesting interviews in the future.

Forgot to comment on this after I read it. It was a really good read. I wish it could have been longer though, there are so many questions I would have liked answered. Though I guess it would have been too long  :P

Love you Petar
