ET Hall of Fame
« on: April 17, 2011, 09:05:49 AM »
2008
Sometime in November, first plans of an editing tournament on GTAS appear after WaRoW and Rusch69 start organizing one. A lot of the popular GTAS editors at the time joined it. Sadly, before any actual matches could start, GTAS gets shoved to the temporary forums, and nobody bothers with the idea for a long period of time after that.

2009
After the subforums off the original GTAStunting site have been imported into the temps, along with it came the empty, never-used, Editing Tournament subforum which was created by THEFTman for the purpose of the tournament mentioned above. I've discovered it and decided to continue this great idea WaRoW and R69 had half a year ago.

The tournament was organized by PtRvY and FloW.

The tournament had a single-elimination system.
16 editors participated in VC.
32 editors participated in SA.
Judges were: BumsNudl, Clankinator, Delfy, FIGHTER, FloW, Instel, Morbidxxx, PtRvY and WaRoW.

Winners were:

2009 VC Finals
Challenge: Best edited mini-collab to the track "Trip Like I Do" by Filter feat. Crystal Method.
[noembed]Zenaku vs. SentitneS[/noembed]

2009 SA Finals
Challenge: Best edited mini-collab to the track "Sunking" by State of Mind.
[noembed]leetcake vs. ICy[/noembed]

2010
This year a lot of new talented editors along with new ones signed up to continue this great tournament series. Beat took over the organization after gaining moderator powers over the Video Editing/Compression section.

The tournament was organized by Beat.

The tournament had a single-elimination system.
16 editors participated in VC.
32 editors participated in SA.
Judges were: Baseline, Beat, CRYOSPHERE, Franco, leetcake, SnowMan and THEFTman.

Winners were:

2010 VC Finals
Challenge: Best cinematic trailer less than 50 seconds long.
[noembed]Zenaku vs. PtRvY[/noembed]

2010 SA Finals
Challenge: Best edited mini-collab to a one minute track mixed by Beat. (Entire track had to be used)
[noembed]PtRvY vs. ICy[/noembed]

2011
A lot of turbulent changes to the tournament system this year, along some really fresh new talents, this year's league was definitely the most exciting one yet. Beat wanted to take up the organization position again, however, he wanted to take part in the tournament so he handed the organization over to me.

The tournament was organized by PtRvY and Franco.

The tournament had 4-editor groups from which two best editors would go on to the knockout stage which was single-elimination.
16 editors participated in VC.
32 editors participated in SA.
Judges were: Baseline, Dundee, Franco, iCy, luli, Omega, PtRvY, Shadowsniper, SnowMan, TheGT4sm and XtremeOmega.

Winners were:

2011 VC Finals
Challenge: Best trailer to a stunt video + the stunt video itself.
Trailer: [noembed]Kacknase vs. Kukiel[/noembed]
Video: [noembed]Kacknase vs. Kukiel[/noembed]

2011 SA Finals
Challenge: Best two-part mini collab. The first part was supposed to have a 'CONSOLE' theme, while the 2nd part was supposed to be a freestyle editing.
[noembed]exLective vs. Rusch69 (no-show)[/noembed]

2012
It was tough to find a willing volunteer to organize this year's edition of the ET, however, after some time XtremeOmega has stepped up to the challenge and put in a lot of effort to make this another good instalment. The league definitely had its share of surprises, with the introduction of drawn matches thanks to an even amount of judges, some of the most anticipated editors dropping out in the group stage, and a final showdown in San Andreas between two relative newcomers! All in all it was definitely a league to remember.

The tournament was organized by XtremeOmega.

The tournament had 4-editor groups from which two best editors would go on to the knockout stage which was single-elimination.
16 editors participated in VC.
32 editors participated in SA.
Judges were: ByTe, exLective, Franco, GDL, Kukiel, Ltab, XtremeOmega and WaRoW.

Winners were:

2012 VC Finals
Challenge: Best full stunt video of at least 3 minutes, featuring at least two tracks.
[noembed]Ulltra vs. Tracker[/noembed]

//D4rksh4doW winner userbar missing//

2012 SA Finals

You are doing such a great job petar
It's a shame that I couldn't participate in 2010's tournament :S (How I love those "winning banners")

Keep doing what you do the best :D

At first I wanted to join the next tournament as judge but then I realised that someday I want to win atleast the third place to keep that banner and never put it away.

As I see the principle which is used, only the winners are shown.

I don't think it will hurt to show the third place in this aswell (of each tournament). Just don't show the banner like on the runner-up.  :)

like:

-Banner of the winner
-match + objective
-2nd place:  ...
-3rd place:   ...

You're only saying that because you won the 3rd place last year  :cc_detective:

Anyways, I might include them, I might not. There never actually was a complete 3rd place match. 3rd place award was usually awarded to the one semi final loser that didn't no show (since always at least one did). The only real 3rd place matches we had were in 2009, and in both matches the win was by no-show.

I have updated this thread with 2012's tournament review. (Yes, I know it took me a while, but I expected XTO to do it sometime). If anyone has DS' winner sig it'd be appreciated.

EDITING > STUNTING
Sorry this is just stupid ... it's funny what ZvitZ told few weeks ago and he is fucking right, how people pay more attention on the editing than stunting and your proof it :a-cheer:
Yeah it's pleasure to watch nice edited video but saying Editing is more important for stunt video than the stunts is just ...

Ontopic : Nice job PtRvY, always wanted to see every winner of ET :P Thanks, top job once again ! :ajaja:
