2008Sometime in November, first plans of an editing tournament on GTAS appear after WaRoW and Rusch69 start organizing one. A lot of the popular GTAS editors at the time joined it. Sadly, before any actual matches could start, GTAS gets shoved to the temporary forums, and nobody bothers with the idea for a long period of time after that.
2009After the subforums off the original GTAStunting site have been imported into the temps, along with it came the empty, never-used, Editing Tournament subforum which was created by THEFTman for the purpose of the tournament mentioned above. I've discovered it and decided to continue this great idea WaRoW and R69 had half a year ago.

2012It was tough to find a willing volunteer to organize this year's edition of the ET, however, after some time XtremeOmega has stepped up to the challenge and put in a lot of effort to make this another good instalment. The league definitely had its share of surprises, with the introduction of drawn matches thanks to an even amount of judges, some of the most anticipated editors dropping out in the group stage, and a final showdown in San Andreas between two relative newcomers! All in all it was definitely a league to remember.
