I were reading some random gaming forum, and i saw a thread about that a Xbox 360 Dashboard update will be relesed. And now i cant find the forum but...anyways ...

The features i read about:
New style on the menus
Saving your games to the HDD(if wanted)
Your xbox will sound less.

Anybody else knows anything about this? and when will it get relesed?(if its true )

From what I know you can already install it, cause it leaked. But if you do, you can't access Live before the official release, which should be on nov 19th.

You get a new dashboard style, avatars and a room kinda thing with your friends avatars. Your friends avatars have different emotions, for example their virtual "character" will be asleep if they are away. They might also be waving if they are ready for an invite to a game. You can also get an update were your games will load quicker and your xbox will not make as much noise as it used to.

And I don't even have an xbox.

Yeah, they're ripping off mii & Sony HOME or whatever it was called.

I remember when I was at a Sony conference and the guy pretty much admitted that Sony copied MS with the PS3... so now I guess it is revenge for MS .

coming on wendensday. its free. you can create avatars kinda like miis however its more diverse down to clothes. Loading and sound times are reduced as you can dl games to teh HD however it still requires the disc in teh tray to launch o prevent piracy. Dashboards gonna be more 3d and versatile. firends list is getting some cool updates. ETC. ETC. it IS mandatory to DL however theres allegedly gonna be some sort of way to view it the classic way.

So will it just pop up on your Dash or do you need to be online to update it? Sounds pretty cool to me.

Of course you must be connected to live. Silver or gold it doesn't matter. It wil ldo just what it says for game. A mandatory update for this system would you like t download now or be signed out of live?

chose Dl now and itll dl then restart your xbox.

im personally very excited.

It is free and has alot of what makes the Wii and inviting system online. I don't really mind that they are doing this since if its a good thing I am happy. The loading of games onto the HDD is not without its problems. You still need the disc in the system for authentication everytime you load up the 360 which essentially turns the Xbox into a PC and takes away what has always made consoles better, the minimal load times or startup crap. Just my thoughts on another anti-piracy measure that the gaming industry is using that may result in more people being pirates
