You will need to download the 1.01 patch; http://grandtheftauto.filefront.com/file/G...eas_Patch;45850

However there will be a bunch of random letters on your screen PLUS the patch doesn't allow you to use edited main.scms and trainers such as GTASACC

So... sucks to be you, vista is pretty fucky.

I was reading about it on some forums

Actually BK i used to use vista, SA worked fine, you just need a good gfx card with up to date drivers.

San Andreas wouldnt work on my Vista either, and i didnt want to update to 1.01. I had backed up my SA folder to an external HD and was just copying it into Vista, i decided to reinstall using my SA DVD and baaam it worked. I guess if your crooked motherfucker and dl SA your out of luck if you upgraded to Vista.

San Andreas 1.0 works perfectly fine on Vista. If you have a pirated copy, that might be why.

Juan, i used my SA off my XP install via my Vista install on a different HDD so it doesnt HAVE to be installed on Vista itself. Only problem i had with it on the wrong drive is that it couldnt save or load reps. So it crashed.

I don't know much about this 'cause I don't have Vista.. But I would say that it might be 'cause you have version 2.0 but don't take my word for it..
