Mouse problems in gta
« on: June 03, 2010, 08:22:11 AM »
The title speaks for itself.. when I try to play any version of gta (especially SAiVC) my mouse doesn't work.. I can move the cursor in the menu, but when it comes to click it doesn't work.. and when I try to play I can't even make my player moving. Do you guys have ever had this problem? And above all, do you have any solution to solve my problem? Thanks in advance :)

Do you have by any chance the classic controls enabled?

I have/had it the only way to get your mouse activated is just alt-tab or clicking esc till your mouse works this can be 30 times or even more, just to minimum this around 10/15 times just DONT OPEN any other program before opening GTA especially Windows Media Player/MSN then try it again. after your mouse works you can switch back to windows or whatever but it can be still unstable after like3/4 times switching your gta will have no problems with switching anymore and you can open your applications.
I dont know if compability mode also helps but mine is set @ Windows XP Service pack 2

Okay somebody should pin this anwser  :euro:

I have found a solution to the problem but its kind of strange. If i plug my controller in before starting the game it works fine. Otherwise i get exactly what you said.

Hope this helps... somehow
