Russia have a very good manager behind them, and they've managed some big results before. Cometh the hour, they may have a surprise in store for the Swedes. Russia aren't at Euro 2008 by luck (although England being shite did help), and I feel we've yet to see them at 100%. If ever there was a time for Russia to turn on the form it's now. Sweden only need a draw - will that mean they'll play for one? We'll wait and see.

I got 2 out of 2 right so far and currently, Russia are out-playing Sweden, winning 1-0. Can I make it a hat-trick of right guesses?

Making one of the worst team efforts in the tournament, we (Sweden) wouldn't deserve to face Holland anyway. Russia are interesting, I think they can give the Dutch a match.

Russia completely spanked the Swedes, I had a feeling the Ruskis would finally show up. To be fair that Arshavin player (suspended for the first two matches) was the difference-maker, expect him to make a big money move somewhere soon.

Quarter final predictions:

Portugal vs Germany (tomorrow) - A difficult one to call...I'm not as impressed with Germany as I was two years ago at the World Cup. They don't look like potential winners. Having said that, neither do Portugal. I have a feeling I'll regret saying this but I think Portugal will win.

Croatia vs Turkey (Friday) - Turkey incredibly turned it around when all looked lost against the Czechs, but this will be the end of their dream. Croats to win, no doubt about it.

Netherlands vs Russia (Saturday) - Russia's manager is Dutch, so this will be an interesting one as he faces his country. Russia were brilliant against Sweden, and Holland have also been a joy to watch as they picked Italy and France apart. I almost don't even care who wins it as we look set to be in for one of the best games of football in years! If Russia win, they'll go on to win the tournament (as long as they have Arshavin available). I don't see Russia beating Holland, though. Van Basten's orange barmy army look heavy favourites to win Euro 2008.

Spain vs Italy (Sunday) - well, bugger me. People are also heavily backing Spain to win Euro 2008, but they have been asked questions about their defensive capabilities. They were able to rest a lot of key players though against Greece, while Italy had to play full-strength to ensure they progressed, fitness may be a factor. I'm going to back Spain to beat the World Champions, but it should be a very intense match.
