woooowwwww

no offense, but all of you sound like fucking morons, "tho I'd say you need atleast 3.2 ghz to run it min when it comes."

that is a load of bullshit.

Ghz mean next to nothing in a processor, Mines 1.8 stock (opteron 165), it will run it fine
DircectX10? no, this will be a DirectX9 game, first off... the PS3 and the Xbox360 do not support DirectX10

This game WILL be ram heavy, i can say that for sure. you will obviously need a little more ram if you use vista over Xp, id say 2GB of some decent speed ram will be a good step in running this in full GFX

Dumbing down the graphics for the PC? are you fucking kidding me?  if anything R* will enhance the graphics for the PC, if your PC is not that great, theres something called graphics adjustments, and you can change resolution and other effect qualities. much like in SA, SA's gfx were slightly improved for PC.

Video memory? it means nothing, but what i can tell you is any decent card has 256MB, you can get a 512MB gfx card and it will still run like shit because its a slow fucking card with a high amount of ram the card cant even take advantage of.

GTAIV will highly likely come out for the PC

its not that hard to overpower an Xbox360 with your computer, its not that expensive either.

Well commenting on you last statement about a PC easily beating an Xbox 360, that is quite true.  And thus the previous statement about enhancing graphics for the PC also stands.  But the ones who will enjoy the highest end graphics, might just be the PS3 owners, as the PS3's shaders have more capabilities than any PC can handle at the moment, even a multicore with the highest amount of RAM and latest graphics card, cannot simulate the almost infinite gradient of light and dark that the PS3 can simulate, well actually produce.

But aside from that, the game for the PC should be released with the limits of PC design performance of today in mind, and yet limited enough that it can be dubbed down to run on systems maybe about 3/5 of the power of the 360.  This way all can enjoy, and even some can have graphics almost as credable as the PS3 versions.

It might just be they could be programming for a highest quality PC and then easily convert that over to run on the PS3, so the PC and PS3 quality will be identical to suit PC owners that want the full enhancements of the game.

*Shruggs*

What do I know though.

I am just speculating.  Although I do know that no PC hardware as of yet cannot simulate the PS3 shader gradients.  Which to be honest have not been taken advantage of yet, and I doubt it will be used to its fullest in GTA:  IV.

I do not know of a graphics setup that will allow light to pass through a membranous substance, as say a cheek with a flashlight shining through it, and actually produce, not simulate, the color change of light shining through skin, without using a dynamic bitmap triggered by set commands and pulls several bitmaps in succession to simulate the rapid change in color, but will only pull up that same animation everytime light hits it.  Which is not what a good PS3 game will do.  It will not call on a rapid successions of images, instead it will calculate where the light hits, where the membrane is thick and thin and the light of the membrane will always be different and at a better, realer contrast.

Sorry mumbo jumbo.  Although I did it for Maxwell's discussion, which got me interested.

Yes, but from looking at the trailer, the most noticeable graphics improvement is the use of dynamic lighting and of course some better models

lets face it, the models that we have seen in GTA:IV are not quiet as high polly  as a lot of games currently out.

R* makes them look much better than they really are with the soft shadows and dynamic lighting.

and now that we have DirectX10 out, we can surpass the PS3's shaders.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that the trailer was done at cut-scene graphics level, maybe even higher, specially to make it look good, in game wont look as amazing as the graphics you saw in the trailer.

That's all I have to say.

that wasnt really a cut scene, at least most of it wasnt, and yes they are using dynamic lighting.

ROFL

Donno if you were kidding or not, either way it's hilarious.

I doubt GTA IV will have steep PC requirements...  As many have mentioned the GTA series has been most popular on the PC.  I'm sure they'll optimize it for the PC, or they might decide it isn't worth the effort and not release it at all.  As someone already said, a console only release isn't really out of the question.

You will need something like the 360 hardware for a good experience on PC imo, they're going to release on PC, they know it would be stupid to lose, beleive it or not, their BIGGEST fan base. They will tone down the stuff greatly for minimum, tho I'd say you need atleast 3.2 ghz to run it min when it comes.

yay for quoting old messages!!!

anyways, IIRC 360 hardware is like only 512-768mb RAM as it doesnt run on an OS, seeing as how thats somewhat low i doubt it has a high clocked CPU, although RAM and CPU are sooo wayy different

then...

LCS & VCS, as stated before, had nothing really to do with the GTA series, they were the "Stories" series. to tide us over 'til the big fat IV

i wonder how it looks with my new graphicscard *directx 10*

i think i can run it and i think if you can run hl2 on max or css then you can definatly run it i think :

Proc : 2,6ghz
Ram : 768mb
Gfxc : Geforce series 6/7/8 ati 1300 to everything

thats what i think for minimum
Doubt it's 760 ram. i got the exact video card you put though.
