There're actually 2 ways of speeding up/down video or music clips.
Every way have his own Pluses.
First way is using the "Properties" of the clip:
1. Put the clip you want to speed up or slow down on a timeline.
2. Click on it with Right Mouse button > "Properties..."
3. If you want to speed the clip up you have to change "Playback Rate" to number from 1.000 to 4.000.

I usually either stretch out the clip using the ctrl button, or using the velocity envelope. I didn't know about the playback rate one.

As an addition one might add that the properties are pretty much for making a vid be the same speed all the time, and the velocity comes in handy when speeding up/down clips for a shorter while.
Nice work

When i change it in properties from 1.000 to 4.000, how much faster will it be? I actually search a way to speed up x2.

Try to use your brain.
1.000 = 1x = recorded speed
2.000 = 2x = double up speed
and so on..
