More infos
« on: November 08, 2012, 01:59:13 PM »
The fictional city of Los Santos, host of "Grand Theft Auto V" will be bigger than that of the worlds game "Red Dead Redemption" "GTA: San Andreas" and "Grand Theft Auto IV" combined.
The information comes from the art director Aaron Garbut, Rockstar Games, in an interview with U.S. magazine Game Informer.
The scenery ranges from urban areas to busy beaches, mountains, a military base, inner suburbs and houses. A curious detail: you can dive and explore the ocean floor off the coast of Los Santos.

About the new players, the trio is comprised of familiar characters from previous games, as many imagined. There are 3 characters unpublished: Michael, a retired gangster coming from the U.S. east coast; Trevor, a career criminal and Franklin, the youngest, henchman of a luxury car dealer.

Players can switch between the 3 character during the game. "After 'GTA IV' and 'Red Dead Redemption' feel that doing more of the same would not be enough to overcome charismatic characters like Niko Belic and John Marston," said Dan Houser, vice president of Rockstar Games.

"Grand Theft Auto V" goes through June 2013, for PS3 and Xbox 360.

On the streets of Los Santos

Revealed on November 2, 2011, "Grand Theft Auto V 'promises adventures in Los Santos, Los Angeles version known players" GTA: San Andreas "and around the city.

No great detail about the game, but we know that return vehicles like jetski and airplanes, among others.

According to Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games, the game is "another radical invention of the universe 'Grand Theft Auto'."

Just read it too, and wow it's pretty bold indeed. I knew it would be big but wtf this is HUGE. I wasn't too keen on multiple protags before, but actually I do like seeing different perspectives and it will make missions more interesting as they said.

They mentioned vehicles grip the road better which is a welcome change from IV, so I wonder how much the physics have changed. I have no doubt stunting will be possible though.

Oh and Ammu Nation is back finally! but I'm dissapointed we can't buy property :(, but interested to see what they've said we will spend money on.

Theres much more but you'll have to read it for yourselves.

Information:
- Underwater world (with underwater caves) and diving equipment confirmed.
- Side-missions similar to Taxi, Ambulance and Vigilante will be back but "probably not identical to the ones in previous GTAs" because they wouldn't fit in with the 3 main character personalities, but the "three will have odd jobs to do".
- Trevor will be the skilled helicopter pilot, Franklin the skilled driver and sniper, Michael the "smooth operator", skilled and versatile.
- Franklin is looking for a mentor and he finds one in Mike after they meet during one of Franklin's repo man jobs.
- Trevor is inspired by the typical GTA player that only roams around the game creating havoc, death and destruction.
- Mission types will vary among "big and small events , explosive, infiltration, super spectacular, family issues, invasion, hostage recovery, heists and robberies. Plus classic GTA missions but updated and improved."
- Cover mechanics have been greatly improved and cover will be very important in the gameplay.
- About the economy, Dan Houser says: "You will be able to spend money to buy interesting and fun things like expensive toys. We are still working on the economy but it will be a strong element in the game and players will be eager to make money to spend money. Something along the lines of "I went through all of this to make all this money and now I'm going to spend it on this crazy item."
- Dynamic music during missions (similar to games like L.A. Noire)
- No co-op for single player missions, but co-op modes will be featured in multiplayer.
- Big focuss on multiplayer with a lot of content to keep players busy.
- The song Radar Love was heard playing on the in-game radio.
- Alamo Sea is the name of the Salton Sea like area.
- Radial menu to select the 3 protagonists.
- Switching in missions partially scripted - meaning, at times character switching will happen automatically.
- In final part of a mission in the demo, the player can decide which character to use.
- There are multiple different endings in the storyline which depend on the choices you made throughout the game.
- The storyline takes around 25 hours to complete.
- Map open from beginning, with the exception of some protected areas.
- A certain amount of money will be needed to gain access to some missions.

this is what i heard from a friend, but he said it was on the gtaforums so it could be false

not a fan of the "3 protagonists" idea... if the storyline switch of character after every mission, its going to be annoying and we wont have time to appreciate the characters like Niko in IV.
They mentioned vehicles grip the road better which is a welcome change from IV, so I wonder how much the physics have changed. I have no doubt stunting will be possible though.
Im pretty happy to read that  . The handling of IV was a pain in the ass with traffic
