Not long ago I cleared all the songs off my iPod, and put in a bunch of albums I had never heard before (1000+ songs), I advise you guys to try it. Then whenever you're going out for a walk or whatever, you have fresh music to listen to ^^

I'll write a few of the ones I liked the most and have been listening most to:

Aesop Rock - Labor Days
Avalanches - Since I Left You
Can - Tago Mago (there are two tracks in there that are kinda boring/annoying imo, but the first four songs are godlike)
J Dilla - Donuts
Jurassic 5 - Power in Numbers, Quality Control
Roots - Game Theory, Phrenology, Things Fall Apart, Undun
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Twin

How can you not like classical? It's the very core of modern music, you should look into it, it isn't just about slow-waltz stuff, but really epic & even very rock like music. Just take a listen:

Prokofiev - Romeo & Juliet
Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky - Power and Passion
Richard Wagner - Ride Of The Valkyries
Russian March - Johann Strauss II
Borodin Symphony No. 2. 1st Mvt.
Schubert - "Death and the Maiden" Quartet in D Minor (1)
Light Cavalry Overture - Franz Von Suppe
Mozart - Marriage Of Figaro - Overture

Now if that doesn't lift you up & fill you with excitement, then nothing will!

These aren't as good as the full length rock operas & ballads, but they're good nonetheless.

What about:
Camille Saint-Saëns - Le Carnaval Des Animaux [complete recording]

I fucking adore Bach's fugues & Mozarts rondos for piano/organ/hapsicord!

I wish I still had my notes from the music literature classes I took, it's impossible to retain nearly all the classical artists & arts in your brain, I wish I could remember some especially awesome tunes I listened to in that class  :(

Schubert is one of my favorite pianists, especially if you have ever listened to 'Winterreise' :
Der Leiermann

This one is the last song of the cycle. Such an amazingly creepy feeling/ atmosphere
