PLEASE HELP FAST
« on: December 06, 2010, 01:01:25 PM »
I'm editing a school project in vegas, I'm doing so in Vegas. It was recorded with a dv cam and it was imported through imovie. I try to drag the files in vegas but it tells me to get quicktime so I get quicktime BUT NOW THE CLIPS IN VEGAS ARE JUST BLACK. Normal clips work but for some reason these .dv files dont show anything. I need to solve this tonight as its due tomorrow PLEASE HELP.

Well, i had actually the same problem with the artclutter clips. I rendered the files with Quicktime Pro in MP4 or something and it worked.

Get VirtualDub and render lossless .avi files out of the source clips to keep up the quality.

Try downloading a codec pack, that may help Vegas read the DV footage. If worst comes to worst, render proxy files in virtualdub at really low quality, edit using those and then when the video is ready to go online and be rendered, re-source with the DV files.

Hey thanks Paul that sounds like a good idea too :) right now I'm gonna go with my little temporary solution since this has to be all rendered and done in like 7 hours and I havent even started editing yet. Imma try and see what I can do with .dv files afterwards when doing the outtakes lol :)
