Help
« on: December 11, 2011, 08:25:00 AM »
Easy heads, I saw that benchmarking software in someone's post the other day, So I thought I would run it, I am starting to believe that I am not getting the most out of my computer. Is there anything not turned on or activated or something, Am I taking advantage of the four cores my pc is supposed to have? Don't get me wrong it's fast, I just think I am missing something? Any help is appreciated thanks.

I just downloaded the free version, And my xp is 64 bit, So cant run that specific test.

Why does it say "1" next to cores, When it's quad core? Excuse my ignorance here.

Okay, I went into msconfig, and advanced options on boot.ini. I changed the number of cores from 1 to 4, reran the benchmark, And the score improved by about a 1000. But it still says 1 core? Any ideas? Do I have to go into bios?

well, you are using 4 cores in the benchmark, why do you care if it says 1, and about its performance, how  when did you buy your computer ?, computers tend to show their age after 3 years or so, just like mine, i used to get 120 fps on SA when i first got it, now i barely get 80

Oh, So I am utilising all four cores? I assumed because it said 1 I was only using 1?

Your most likely using all your cores, but again aging does make an impact on how your pc's overall performance can manage.
Cleaning up the insides regularly does tend to help ya'know. I'm not gonna bother telling you to renew your parts.
