The reality of it is, is that if you want to play the newer games smoothly, you really DO need to spend a whole fortune on a PC. Sure, you can get a PS3 or an Xbox, and play all those games smoothly, but that's not what he asked for, was it?

if you wanna really upgrade your computa, use intel core i5 and Geforce 260 GTX, this is the great point.
Don't never ever Buy Amd, cuz Intel is much better than AMD and I assure that!

If you want to upgrade your PC, i suggest to buy AMD Phenom X3 or X4 from processors
from graphics cards i would buy AMD 240,250GTS or 260GTX
He wanted to play new games well. GTS250 and 260 are not going to run new games very well (they're low-mid-end cards).

Got a 260GTX and  I can run Crysis 2 on the highest settings with 60 FPS . lol

Oh reeeeally? Exaggerating much?

http://www.geforce.com/#/Optimize/Guides/crysis-2-benchmarks

On the highest settings, it would barely reach 30fps at 1680x1050. At 1920x1200 it wouldn't even reach 30fps.
Only at the lowest tested settings it would exceed 60fps.

I play at 1920 x 1080 and I get steady 60 FPS , I you could tell me how to make a screen with the FPS counter of Fraps , I'd prove it :)

That button for making screenshots on the keyboard somehow never worked ingame on this PC lol

It's not your PC, it's the game. Some games won't allow print-screening.
To make a screenshot with the FPS counter, go to Fraps -> Screenshots -> Tick the box that says "Include frame rate overlay on screenshots"

A screenshot is not much of a proof though, you could easily go to a spot where you get better framerates than you normally do, and also you could also just not have graphics settings maxed out. :P

Record you maxing it out then showing me 60fps gameplay in a continuous shot, then I'll believe you. :)
