Recording lags
« on: December 16, 2010, 12:33:14 PM »
The problem of getting recording lags is getting worse and worse, I don't know if it has to do with my HDD space or my hardware or how many programs I have
running in the background but I need it fixed. It pisses me off having to keep re-recording stunts when I have a really good angle which I can't record at.

The things I can't close are ofc the game, freeplay and the folders with the replays. But closing other things won't do much help. Using Game Booster isn't a very helpful
option either because as SS once said there are operations running for a reason, so I'd rather not touch that.

I have tried lowering the draw distance (in SAiVC) and helped just a bit but I want to record at eeeeverything max.

Oh and, in SA I can record just fine.

Help, PLEASE. Before i get so annoyed I'll start trolling out of boredom :/

No idea what exactly could cause your lags. Well HDD space or other applications in the background are to be the only suggestions which come into my mind actually, but you listed those yourself already. I'm recording with Vegas/MSN/Firefox/whatever (simply many applications) in the background aswell and that on maximum settings + ENB with my crappy hardware. If the HDD space ain't a problem, you can lower the FPS amount to like 15 (in VC) and speed it up in Vegas/VDub/whatever to 200%. It'll have the usual 30FPS look and speed.

I record with a FPS amount of 10 (in SA) and speed it up to 250%. 10 x 2,5 = 25 :ajaja:

No idea if this happens to others, but when I have like around 10 Clips in the saving direction of the Fraps clips, the game often uses to lag a lot. Whenever I clean it up or move the clips somewhere else, it just works fine again. That's why I'm creating always a folder for every stunter and stunt of a video project.

Yes, it happens to me also. Try it, it might solve your problem.

Rusch: thanks for the help but I absolutely despise recording at anything lower than 30 in VC and 25 in SA.
FIGHTER: it happens in VC/LC aswell. :/

And I remember HD once said something about recording lags but those were stable in the clips, mine still lag like fuck in those. :/
