hey...i've noticed alot of people are using windows media player for their vids here, and that's fine and all since the majority of people here are PC users. When I downlaod most of these vids though, they play back really horribly. It says they are buffering at around 1500 kbps or more usually. I've noticed that for the most part they are some of the newer vids too. When I first started wacthing any stunt videos, which was about 7 months ago maybe, all the ones I watched were in .wmv format, but they buffered at around 300 kbps. So my question is this: Is there something I'm needing to watch these files correctly, like a codec for windows media player, or are there just more people now making vids that don't really understand the compression process? I would appreciate it if someone can shed some light on this for me, as I am a Macintosh user who for the most part has to watch .wmv movies, since most of yhe vids are in that format. Why did you get a mac? You could always just convert the vids to whatever works best for you.

You know, I almost didn't say anything at all because I knew someone would make some smart remark like "Why did you get a mac?" or "Just go buy a PC"...I've been using Macs since 1984, and they work for me. It's a stable and dependable platform. I was just asking for help.

As far as converting them are concerned, how? I have already considered that, but I don't know what to use. You can't just open a .wmv file in quicktime, so there obviously must be some sort of converter. This is why I was asking you guys. Instead I get a "Why did you buy a Mac?"

If your having troubles buffering, is it possible for you to save the videos to your computer?

i do save the files to my hard drive, which is the thing that really gets me. If I was just streaming them i might understand, since i'm on a wireless netwrok that sucks. I'll try finding some codecs and see if that works. Thanks.
