VC Chat & Support / A discussion about cheating
« on: October 14, 2020, 12:39:28 AM »
Hello there, I've been away for a while obviously but I feel like it'd be beneficial to share some thoughts and feelings I have had with everyone about the deceptive act of modding stunts and attempting to pass them off as legitimate.

This is probably a topic those who that have been active this whole time are somewhat tired about, as you've obviously been here to see discussions play out at the time. Returning to the scene I was looking forward to catching up with everyone from before as well as discovering new exciting stunters I'd missed out on. What I was not anticipating was the number of reported modders not only from while I was gone, but even when I was active and blissfully unaware of it at the time.

It's the age-old question - why do people do it?

Is it ego? Wanting to be seen as impressive to your peers? I question whether the deception is worth it knowing you're a fraud.

Is it a thrill from lying? Some people do enjoy that sort of thing, odd as it seems to me.

I've been blown away by the reception I've gotten coming back from folk, people sharing their memories and stuff. Thing is I know people usually remember me not because of my stunting - I've always accepted I've been average at best - but folk seemed to dig my personality, plus I was fortunate enough to be in TMS, a crew that genuinely meant a lot to people. I was one who let my personality try and define me, to make up for what I perceived as a lack of ability. I can't RAD for example, never learned. While I can think of creative stunt spots I tended to struggle landing them, and certainly wasn't a match for the creativity of guys like Kert, an actual genius. But I never felt like I had to be either.

I tried to leave TMS once. I knew my lack of abilities compared to the others in the crew. I felt like they were soaring higher and higher while I was an anchor pulling them back. This is kinda covered in the history topic on TMS sections too. But after a short while and talking to the guys they made me realise that they wanted the person, not the stunter, with them. My personality is what mattered to them and not my abilities to stunt in an old video game.

It's a situation where I think to be myself that I could've taken different approaches to. I feel others in similar situations might've contemplated cheating. I'm glad I never went down such a path but I imagine most cheat because they have been in situations where they felt like they weren't good enough, but desired to be.

It saddens me hearing whispers, rumours, even more, about stunters I respected who probably turned out to be cheating. But I just wanted to encourage people on here, if you feel like you need to do it - don't. Let your personality shine, don't cheat yourself by pretending to be something you're not. You're good enough just the way you are already.

So aye, stop cheating fuckers, please.

EDIT: Move this to general discussion if necessary as it covers multiple GTA games and not just VC.

TMS Video Releases / Kingjad Montage

https://youtu.be/9X5QIqKbHMQ

I wanted to do this many years ago but circumstances in life prevented this happening. Fact is I had a chance to do it now and so took that opportunity.

I said it elsewhere on here recently but I'm fully aware that in a stunting sense, I was bang-average a lot. And I've always been OK with that, because I was more focused on enjoying myself with friends. I'd like to think that is what appealed to others about me as well when it came to videos.

I don't know how but I cannot find any replays from myself for 12B so I had to steal clip directly from the video itself. Everything else though is freshly recorded, me having some fun with Freeplay.

I honestly don't know if I'll ever manage to do anything new but I am stunting again, so I'll see what comes of it. But this is for TMS and all who enjoyed what I did on here.

The editing is deliberately simple, I was going to experiment with colour corrections and other transitions/effects and stuff but I wanted to keep things quite basic, kinda sums me up!

Thank you everyone. If anyone wants a download link I'll provide one later on I guess.

Gaming Discussion / Need help
« on: October 16, 2015, 04:14:19 PM »
Hey guys, I need some help deciding something.

I want to play games like Rocket League. Do I buy a PS4, an Xbox One or a gaming laptop? I currently am still rocking with my Xbox 360, and my current PC hasn't got a good enough graphics card to run Rocket League (and since graphics cards can be a bit pricey in themselves, it'd be better probably just to get a brand new modern gaming laptop instead of trying to boost my old PC to meet current standards).

But the Xbox One and the PS4 are probable cheaper alternatives. So feedback would be appreciated folks?

Something to keep in mind is that I'm not actually too active in playing many games, I still have Xbox 360 and I use it only for FIFA 14 and GTA V. If I had a current-gen console, I'd likely get new version of GTA and Rocket League, but that'd probably be about it - laptop option is open to getting older games too.

So feedback would be appreciated guys, your previous King from yesteryear's been very out the loop on such matters and wants to reign supreme in Rocket League (for a game I've never played I know I'd enjoy it haha).

So I've just completed the story mode of GTAV (credits rolling as we speak), and I'm curious about the choices people made.

Without giving anything away - did people select A, B or C? I strongly recommend using the spoiler tags to avoid ruining things for people, but I chose C. Will likely re-play things to see what happens when I pick A and B too.

So what did yous pick?

Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 | My Thoughts (Demo)

So what do others think about the PES 2013 demo? I'm disappointed, but perhaps it's because of my ignorance of the controls when I'm so accustomed to FIFA.
