Quake 3 rip off

right.. why would they make different weapons then? and why would they even state that they use the quake engine? think before posting...
Its just another first person shooter which has fast gameplay.

It looks just like Deathmatch Classic.

its kinda cool because it has a "special" button so you can do wall-jumps, dash etc. And you can use weapons for boosting up walls or just to jump higher. Its kinda UT / Quake mix imo.
Fun stuff!

Gaming Discussion / Trackmania DS

Its been said a few times and the video shows it: You can use Wi-Fi, you can even share your tracks with your friends to easyly play with them - BUT there is no internet play, only lan.
Not too bad in my opinion because I wouldn't want to play online while beeing on the bus, its just unreleastic from the cost. I have other trackmanias to play online when I m at home.

There is also real online play with the DS, but Trackmania will only support lan. I m sure that we will be able to tunnel it tho.

How about giving the new posts image a color?

spot the difference...  I m sure there would be more activity if you could instantly see which sections have new posts. Try coloring parts of it in a catchy red or yellow.

What do you think?

Community Council / Do we need the introduce yourself section?
« on: October 17, 2008, 03:24:13 AM »
//Bump:
What about making the introduce youself section into a topic? Its usually only one or two sentences in each topic and there is no real discussion, just a warm welcome. This would work as good in a topic, but it would keep the forums smaller. We fight with less and less activity each day anyway, so making the forums smaller is a good idea to push masses into fewer sections while keeping the old content.

Gaming Discussion / Ps2 or Xbox
« on: October 17, 2008, 03:15:03 AM »
I agree with Haywire, the xbox controllers are perfect. The problem with the xbox (atleast here in europe) was the advertisement.
The only ads I have seen were for Dead Or Alive and Halo (or very new titles which were unknown). Even a year after I got my xbox, when I visited a friends house, he didn't know what the xbox is, and declared it as "bad rip of the PS2".
Also, due to the bad advertisement most adults got the console which you won't find in this forums, kids under age 10 didn't even think about the console (remember, Halo and DOA are age 16+ here)
Personally I still think that the xbox had MUCH better games and graphics than the other consoles in that generation. The PS2 never had such a great system link ability (atleast not when I played) and the xbox had alot more homebrew for it.
I repeat myself here: I still use my old xbox on a monthly basis or so just to watch movies with it (its kinda replacing a dvd player in our living room), listen to internet radio... and to play classic titles like Mario 64 at the TV with an almost perfect emulation. Sometimes I also like to play some tekken etc on it - it just emulates most systems perfectly.

The XBox 1, is, in my opinion the best console designed after the dreamcast, while the "desktop" playstations (up to PS3) are only rips or copied ideas of other commercial products with less attention.

//Edit: To name a few good xbox titles:

- Halo series
- Mashed
- Counter Strike (My favorite CS)
- Kung Fu Chaos
- Burnout series (Better graphics)
- GTA (Better graphics than PS2 and PC, and replays)
- Ninja Gaiden
- Forza
- Conker
- ...

and there is always stuff like

- XBMC
- Emulators
- ...

Trackmania DS will be released in about a month or so, are you guys waiting for it?

I have always been a "liker" of the trackmania games (nations is my favorite) and its a must-buy for me.
I m also impressed by the graphics this DS title has. I will grab it on day-0 to do some evil *hacking* things with it (and getting all medals etc  ).
I m waiting more for this than for GTA: Chinatown Wars I would say.

VLC supports real audio.
Use the streaming assistent to restream the file to disk in another format.
