Video Editing/Compression / 'Flash' effect?
« on: December 07, 2006, 02:05:43 PM »
You guys had different ideas of what kind of 'flash' he wanted than I. No ones suggestion is wrong, just different.

Flashes are overused in videos today anyways. There are much better effects  you could add to your video anyways.

There were some really good stunts in there. Not all of them were amazing but you had a few really hard ones in there as well. The editing wasn't superb, but still a good video.

SA Un-Modded Video Releases / My Second Stunt Vid !!!!!!
« on: November 08, 2006, 08:21:19 PM »
Yeah, sure he wanted comments, but I highly doubt he wanted no-holds-barred, negative and un-need degrading feedback. I don't see how anyone could talk down to a second video. Pushing hard has to do with encouragement, not disheartening which it was plain to see was the main point to some of the posts.

Check it out. Black font.

SA Un-Modded Video Releases / My Second Stunt Vid !!!!!!
« on: November 08, 2006, 07:33:12 PM »
Yo yo YO! Stop with the negative comments like "sucks" and "blows" and comments like "too easy" and stuff. Did HTB RYNO say this stunt video was better than anything every made? Did he even say it was good?? I don't think so. It's the guy's second video, give him a break. It's obvious that his heart for making videos is just more "developed" than his efforts toward stunting. As far as I'm concerned, the friendly, "It was OK, try a little harder though next time" is prefect in this situation.

As far as how I thought the stunt video was, you did decent on it. I saw a couple of really good stunts in there for your level of experience (don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to act like I'm a master at stunting). If you are out to make a really good video, take more time on getting the stunts. Editing - It looks like you know what you're doing, the more you mess around in your video editor the more you will learn. Well, thats all for now.
Keep the videos commin'.

After seeing such an amazing display of talent in beauty, there's only one question to be asked:

Will you marry me?

Downloading.

Not terrible. Was really short, which was kind of disappointing lol. Hopefully day 3 will be longer, and not have any of those slight mess-ups you had in there. Nice lines tho, keep up the work.

My NAME!!

Seriously, did you make your name to look like mine....

Downloading...

VERY good first video. You definitely know what you are doing. The editing wasn't that bad either. The only thing that I don't like allllll that much about this video is the fact that 3/4 of those stunts have been done before, in the recent past. Nice video anyways, good luck in the future

Video Editing/Compression / 'Flash' effect?
« on: October 14, 2006, 09:17:29 AM »
You've found a good tutorial theftman but I'm not sure if that's what they wanted exactly.

For this tutorial you will need:

ʉۢPaint
ʉۢVegas
ʉۢKnowledge of transparencies and Tracks in vegas

You will be using 3 tracks in this tutorial. The botom-most will be the music. The second will be the stuntvideo and the top track will be used to make the overlaying flash. This solid white canvas can be made by saving a solid white picture made in Paint as a BMP and importing it to vegas.

First off set up your interface to resemble the one below.

[img]http://upload.kinstry.co.uk/users/M2B/3tracks.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"IPB Image\" /]

Notice the order of the tracks. It is essential for making this effect.

If you are trying to get the flash effect perfectly onbeat with the music, follow these steps:

+Find the exact spot of the song on the track. If the spot is one with a very stressed beat, the EQ display on the track will have a sudden growth in size. Click near this area on the track to get your cursor [at least] near the desired beat of the song.

+Press the SPACE button to play in the preview window. Listen to where the song starts as soon as you press play. If you hear the beat, and only the beat, that you wanted to place the effect, you are in the right spot. If it is a little off, you can use the ARROW KEYS (left and right) on your keyboard to adjust the location of the cursor a little at a time untill you find the exact spot. You can now click and drag your media to snap it to the cursor.

Now, if you were to play through a preview of what you have so far, you'd see a solid white cavas where you want your flash to be. The next step is to think of how long you want the flash to last. To change this, move your cursor to the far right of the track, near the edge. Your cursor should change into a small sqare and an arrow. Click and drag from left to right and this will adjust the length of the flash.

You are almost done! Last thing you need to do is have the white fade out. To do this, move your cursor to the right edge just like in the previous step. When the cursor changes to the small square with an arrow, don't click but move the cursor up to the corner of the track. The cursor will turn into a 1/4 circle with a left and right arrow (<->). You may now click and hold, and move your cursor to the left. As you move to the left, you will notice a sort of "secondary cursor" moving over the track. Move it alllll the way to the left and left go of the click. Your white-flash (top) track should now look like either one of these two examples:

[img]http://upload.kinstry.co.uk/users/M2B/flashexample.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"IPB Image\" /]

Now preview the track and witness the results.

If this is NOT what you were looking for then I appologize, but this tutorial could become of use for someone else...
