A Vice City solo.

Backstory

As I am sure many of us have - I have always wanted to produce a solo I could be proud of. Towards the end of my first stint in stunting, this was planned to be in San Andreas. However with the final crew video from TMS in production - the little stunting I did was focused on Vice City, and I found myself enjoying it more than making attempts in San Andreas. I also discovered a couple of spots that were remarkable, both in terms of difficulty and the extent to which they pushed Vice City physics to the limit. Perfect centrepieces, were I to swap to making a Vice City solo instead. Unfortunately, I never landed them. And as TMS itself came to a close, combined with myself moving away to university and into young adulthood - stunting and gaming generally faded out of my life. A largely deliberate choice to make the most of those younger years.

Ten years, a degree, and a career later - I dipped my toes into stunting once more. Given my history and a warm welcome from SA stunters, this tended towards San Andreas to begin with. But once again, I just found Vice City more enjoyable to play around in. Adding to this - many of the spots I had in mind for San Andreas had, in the intervening years, already been landed by the likes of Taz, AR and similar. To my surprise, my few Vice City spots were undefeated. Whilst I enjoy less time-consuming stunts (in fact I prefer them, consciously), it seems I have a natural affinity for trying the ridiculous. Because what occured over the next few years, can only be described as obsession. With a decent amount of free time to spend, and also conscious that age and responsibilities will soon prevent me from pursuing such things, I decided to push myself to see these spots landed. Or at the very least, exhaust every possibility and time limit before giving up. As the months and years rolled on, however, the spots kept feeding back on themselves. Regularly demonstrating that they were, in fact, doable. Which drove me even harder to make them happen. And eventually, they did. I also found that spots, new and old, unlocked just through sheer practice and experimentation, and I was learning details of the physics right up until the last.

So we arrive at this video. All in all around 3200 hours of stunting time went into these clips. Months of recording and editing by Haywire. Countless more hours spent thinking about cinematography, music and discussing spots and ideas. I am more than comfortable saying - I gave this everything I had.

With all that said - we hope you enjoy. As ever, reaction videos are extremely appreciated. Nothing beats the visceral feeling you get from watching a video first time, and it easily justifies the time and effort that went into the project. Thank you.

Additional Notes

- Replays were recorded by using Freeplay slow-mo, with the recordings returned to normal game speed, in the video editor. This emulates the look of 60fps gameplay, whilst the stunts themselves were obviously performed at 30fps.

- Extensive live recordings were taken for all stunts in this video. These will be made available ad-hoc should people want them.

:)

It's been an honour and a privilege to be a part of this project. Working alongside DC to create this video was a massive effort, and I'm very proud of the outcome.

However, on that note, I do not foresee undertaking any future editing projects. While I worked hard to produce what you've just watched, a lot of the time I avoided that work knowing the involvement it asked of me. I think that is a sign not to force myself into things unless I'm truly motivated towards the process. It's likely I will produce one more personal project, whenever that may be, and that will be that.

Anyway, that's enough about that. Halcyon, and DeathCobra, will be watched and spoken about for many years to come. This video is fucking badass.

Perhaps in a few days I (or we) can tee up a director's cut stream and share everything about the process.

Thanks

I would like to add a few shoutouts to individuals who were enormous contributors to this video, in their own right.

Haywire - for editing, of course. But also for support and shooting the shit since the very earliest stages. Also for pulling Barney out of nowhere, as his solo served as a big source of motivation and inspiration.
Biel - as someone very familiar with spending countless hours ramming into map objects, and working on a solo in tandem, he was a tremendous source of support and inspiration.
Rainbow - for having a borderline paranormal spot memory, and endless theorycrafting and discussions along the way.
Dannye - for creating the incredible tools that we all use regularly. Stunting would not have enjoyed the longevity and depth that it has had, without him.
Darkstar - also for replay tools giving us essentially unlimited cinematographic options. Also for pointing me to a few spots along the way.
MaCi - for inspiration and the few chats we got to have, before his passing. I hope he is somehow able to see this, because he had more of a hand in this video than he probably ever knew.
Barney - for allowing me to use a couple of spots of his.

Definitely one of, if not the, best VC solo out there. I'm sure we've all been in the same mindset before, wanting to release one killer solo. But very few people see it to the end, and even fewer see it to the end with such a consistent high quality of stunts. So many of these spots are ones I've looked at and decided that they are very much possible, but I just did not have the persistence and dedication to put time into. This video is very much an inspiration to go out and tackle my own library of these spots.

I got a lot of inspiration from watching videos of DC when I first started doing stunts. After that we started getting older and moved away from the GTA
But when I came back, I saw people who were still doing it, and I thought it was amazing. I'm into VC these days, too, and I feel like I'm following your path
Thank you for the good video  ;D  ;D

Completely satisfied with the stunting and editing. I must confess that the hype set up a higher expectation but its still a absolute killer video. Every spot and execution is monster level, some more than others, and that camera work, colours and editing is what I need

edit: not really a fan of pure pcj stunts, and jason quitting editing :cc_detective:

Seven minutes of video. I smoked two cigarettes. I've seen it for the first time now. Open and strong. Until the end. Surprise me step by step. There's a lot of places I've thought about. But I've never tried. Because I don't feel like I can do it. And you. It's all done. You pulled off a stunt that a lot of people think about but don't dare to do. High energy all the way. Crazy output. By the way. You really hit your stride. Reach the sky in one step. I hope you will continue to be active in the forum. Recent forums are more active. It's something I've always wanted to see. Hope goes on forever. I'm gonna go see it again. :ajaja:

Holy moly. Those grind combos were just mindblowing, loved them, the 360wallride one was probably the stunt of the year for me. Some of the bigairs, honestly, looked doubtable, but I've never been a bigair stunter, so I'm just gonna rely on the ones with better experience, innocent until proven guilty, hats off mate :euro:

I liked the editing, I love deftones, great choice, even greater atmosphere. The only thing I'd point is that I'd have loved to see some of the stunts from more angles, but I get it, the runtime was short. I was lying, there is another, this slowmo/speed up 60fps looks way too smooth for me, feels like when you're watching a movie in 60, it feels off somehow, but that might only be me  :P

gg guys

Approached this viewing with already steeply set expectations and it shattered them without leaving a trace. Top to bottom, from presentation to the quality and heterogeniety of the material - absolutely top notch and frankly mesmerising. You've provided with a timeless classic brimful of top tier spots, some of which had been in the realm of fantasy and fables. Really outdid yourselves.

[0:47 - 1:08] - VC - Natbump: A big, natural stunt on the VC map. It doesn't get much better than that. Getting big stats out of that ledge must've been difficult, it's not a low bump but not quite a high one either. Brutal landing on top of everything. Great opener
[1:09 - 1:16] - SAiVC - Backbump to Prec: Nice find, this is just the type of stuff I love seeing done in SAiVC
[1:17 - 1:26] - VC - Bump to Grind to Boat: Cool classic stunt. The boat landing definitely added a lot to it, good call going for that
[1:27 - 1:40] - VC - Airport P2B: Crazy stats on this one
[1:41 - 1:47] - SAiVC - Natbump to Highway: Not that interesting of a spot, good looking execution though
[1:48 - 1:55] - VC - PSM to Helipad: Awesome to see this helipad landed. Couldn't have been easy with the limited runup
[1:55 - 2:05] - SAiVC - Wall Bonk to 360 to Wallride to Grind: Similar things have been done here in SA so the spot itself didn't take me off guard but the 360 onto the wallride was really cool
[2:07 - 2:15] - LC - Bump to Krail to Double Grind: One upping Eddeman's stunt with style. Lovely execution with the 180 in-between
[2:16 - 2:24] - SAiVC - Double Krail to Grind: Looks like a fun spot
[2:26 - 2:33] - LC - Tankbump: Props for the effort
[2:35 - 2:43] - SAiVC -  BSM to Prec: I take it you lost this one. A different setup doesn't make the stunt new in my eyes although I'm sure it was a whole lot harder with a BSM
[2:44 - 2:57] - SAiVC -  PSM to BB Grind: Huge air to grind, always a treat. And nice way of avoiding the bail, smooth moves
[2:59 - 3:07] - LC - Natbump to BB: We all know how bitchy those bilboards are to land. Well done
[3:07 - 3:23] - LC - Tower P2B: I came 3ft short of landing this a stupid amount of times and even bailed on the edge once. I probably wasn't gonna come back to this spot but now I can definitely scratch it off my list. Great job
[3:25 - 3:40] - VC - Curb Bump to Curve Grind: Looks like a tough double bump to get and a tight angle too. You actually grinded way more of the rail than I expected, I didn't think you'd have enough speed to make it all the way up let alone grind around the curve. Nice looking
[3:41 - 3:55] - VC - Corked P2B: Great effort once again. RIP MaCi
[3:56 - 4:08] - VC - Drop Bump to Wallride to Grind: Neat, just the kind of spot I wish I would've found myself. So great to see stuff like this still getting landed on this map
[4:09 - 4:16] - VC - Double Bump: Never tried this but the only way a spot like this remains unladed for so many years is if it's an absolute ball-ache to try so I'm sure that was the case here. Amazing natural stunt, props for taming it
[4:17 - 4:24] -  LC - PSM to Crane Prec: Classic stuck method spot maxed out. Sick
[4:25 - 4:25] - LC - Skimmer MAG: It's a 200ft+ MAG, but I just can't fully enjoy unnatural looking setups like this, it's also not too hard to get good attempts once you have the skimmer in the right spot. It is still a 200ft+ MAG though..
[4:36 - 4:45] - SAiVC - CSM to Prec: Must've felt good to finally get the perfectly angled bump there. Very satisfying to finally see this done after having watched people fly over the prec in every other time limited vid
[4:46 - 5:08] - LC - Dam Grind: Been a long time since someone dropped an Eddeman-style grind like this. Badass spot, love to see it landed and it's even more impressive knowing that you kept re-doing the grind till you managed to stay on the roof at the end. Perfection
[5:09 - 5:22] - SAiVC - Bump: Utterly ridiculous spot and how fitting that you claimed it yourself in the end. Can't imagine how long this took, the stats combined with landing on the edge being a necessity make this one of the most absurd stunts ever landed without a doubt
[5:23 - 5:40] - Finisher: :big:. Don't know what else to say. Can't imagine someone expected a new height WR in 2024
---
Sick stuff, the tech stunts were all maxed out and I love how you mostly went for hardcore natural spots while also indeed pushing the limits with some of the big air ones. The use of SAiVC was probably the best it ever was in a video, no SA recycling to see here. I'd love to hear some backstories about the process of landing these, looking forward to the bail reel too

Editing: I gotta be honest, I thoroughly hated the way 60fps made the stunts look lol. It made everything look oddly slow, almost like a half-grav video. I felt like it took away some of the 'punch' these brutal stunts would've otherwise had. I appreciate the attempt at something new but this really didn't look good in my onion. I also once again wish you had gone for some color adjustments to give the video a little more personality, the sky looked nice but the bare bones clips made things look a little undercooked to me. The camera work was stellar as always though, I very much enjoyed all the custom made movements
Sorry if it sounded like I shit all over the edit, obviously that's just my preference and I'm sure you guys like the video as it is.

Well that was amazing. I can appreciate the *every stunt has to be massive* motif. This will take a few more watches to totally process. With that being said, I did make a crappy reaction video: https://youtu.be/fy0j5MJYJ_A

And Haywire, if this is truly the (second to) last massive project you work on, I can understand going out on a high note, but I would love to see another fun video edited by you with experimental editing. :D

Thanks for all the comments and reactions guys :)

On the 60fps topic - yeah, I was a little jarred by it when I first saw Haywires experiments with it. After all we've lived with 30fps for 20 years now. But after some period of adjustment, I developed the opposite problem where it's fairly uncomfortable to go back. Perhaps come back to it, and if it stays weird, then fair enough.

I'm also planning a fairly massive progression video on how each spot was done. I basically need to automate the whole recording process as it's about 1500 reps though. So some tools need to be written to do all that :P

Firstly, I apologize for not being able to react live. However, I think I will be able to express myself better through this text, after having watched the video a few times and absorbed it a little.

In my humble opinion, it's the best Vice City video of all time. I'm not going to point out any specific stunt because this is a rare case of a video where all the stunts are incredible. I will treat it as a complete work. What impressed me most is that, in addition to being absurdly difficult stunts in terms of statistics and difficulty, you managed to perform them all practically perfectly.

I finished the video with mixed feelings. A feeling of happiness for being alive to see limits being pushed to the maximum and a feeling of melancholy for thinking that nothing from now on will overcome this. After Biel's solo in San Andreas and your solo in Vice City, I think we can close the doors and admire what everyone did until the arrival of these videos to end everything in an epic and beautiful way. I may be exaggerating, but that's my feeling right now and I mean it honestly. You beat the game. Congratulations.

I appreciate you doing this for the community and I hope you get the recognition you deserve.

An instant classic in every regard. Not only were the stunts insane, most were landed with impeccable flare and precision, you made everything look effortless and clean.

Opting for such a classic song was a risky choice, but given the gravity of what was being landed, it ended up being a perfect fit. Editing was top notch, subtle and smooth transitions with great camera work.

I hope the video was everything you hoped it would be, amazing work mate.

You are kidding, right? If that was posted in 2008-2014 it would be flamed to the bone with modding accusations (i.e. Matias' Addict or Overdose etc.).

It seems like no one gives a shit how they were being lied to these days on this forum. Put on the pink glasses and stunting's alive once more.

Nevertheless, good job for the effort.

Definitely one of the best videos ever. It was like barney's solo most of the time but with Samurai's touch at times which makes it special. SAiVC 360 spin 2 wallride 2 grind and huge bump with grab at the end were beautiful. All executions were flawless,  much respect for that. I'm not a fan of psm method but that's my stunting taste. Good job legend.  Great editing Haywire.

Outstanding work here DC, each stunt was top-notch stuff start to finish, just wow - such an impressive display of talent, and making for a damn fine video. The time and effort you must have poured into this really shines through, and the lovely edit by Haywire showcases it all so perfectly, really allowing you to fully take-in each stunt - with that great approach of starting each with a stylish shot of the setup or a neat tease of whats to come, followed by a nice clean continuous shot of the stunt itself, lovely work.

Favourite stunts for me would probably be the two wallie to grinds (spinning bump in SAiVC and pool bump in VC), the SAiVC planter bump to purple thingy, the LC double grind, and definitely that SAIVC PSM to BB grind (in which the wallride-down ending was a perfect cap - super satisfying)... but really they were all super cool, and made even cooler again by their perfect executions (eg. seeing you land that very top prec on the SAiVC pirate ambo stunt was already sweet, but then you were even perfectly centered and aligned on it!). Some of editing highlights would have to be wonderful camerawork used throughout the LC double fence grind, ditto the runnup shot for the LC packer bump to bridge, the shooting of the SAiVC planter/purple stunt, and that very nice choice for timecyc colours used all the way through.

DC and Haywire, my hats off to both of you!

Absolutely banger of a solo man, god damn it :o Opener was fantastic, p2b2stadium in vc totally blew my mind, upcoming stunt right after that was great, the spin2wallride2grind combination is always welcome, but in vc it is just even more impressive in my eyes hehe, then the bump2doublegrind was very cool apparently this part right here is just full of bangers alright :ajaja: Yeah well the full video is. I won't specify every single stunt, bcuz I basically could  Bigairs were the highlight for sure, since all of them are fucking crazy, respect for your patience and effort that you have put into this project. I will say tho the prefinisher is probably my fav, this is how a perfect bigair stunt should look like ;D Hope to see more from you, if the scene won't be dead until then xd. Clean editing, song was alright. Good job both of you, and again I respect your persistence DC, insane video!

This video gave me satisfaction, all stunts were in place and I did not feel that they could be done better. Bangers came one after another and it seemed like you never run out of the biggest stunts ever landed. Grindcombos were all good imo and they looked stylish, the VC grindcombo starting from the pool has got to be one of the best stunts. I'm no expert in VC so I cannot tell if this all is clean or not but I rely on these experienced guys and believe it is an outcome of lots of hard work and dedication.
Editing was fitting, good job using this song effectively.
Overall the video was a whole package of the highest quality, you can be proud of this solo, DC  :P

Thanks for the kind words all :)

Popped tire was used on the opener. For some reason, it just bumps a bit better with it. Even so it's still very inconsistent, and then you essentially prec the landing. The combination of those factors is likely why such an obvious spot has lasted since TOAS.

Otherwise there's nothing new. The finisher I suppose is a bit special in that it's a fucked up skimmer bump. I'd looked at that spot as an idea, several years ago. But given the stats required, and the weird setup, I never actually tried it. That is until Barney gave it a try for Ceno and hit 280ft in a fairly short space of time. It's pretty easy to get 230+ there. But getting the stats and accuracy for the roof was an entirely different proposition.

Grinds were mostly uninteresting. Big airs were uninteresting and looked modded. Waiting for the reps. Editing was okay but nothing special and the 60fps is a bad idea.
I disagree with this comment about the quality of the stunts but it would be nice to see the reps, just to clear up any doubts. After watching the video several times, some of these big air stunts really look weird a bit and unnatural, but maybe it's down to the editing.

Yeah I was harsh like always but I meant that there were mostly updated old spots which took the wow factor away.

Been meaning to review this thing properly, a bit later than I wanted but it is what it is. First of all I want to say it was a pleasure to be a small part of the process and helping with some spot knowledge where I could. Cenotaph was a great return from the legend but after entering your discord I knew something similar or even better was going to come eventually. The dedication to big air stunting you have is something I genuinely cannot comprehend, I would rather stab myself with one of those knives from Allbeasts reviews than attempt some of these things for so long. That 280ft attempt clip from Barney seemed like an absurd idea to even entertain and here we are.. Put that spot to rest before anyone would even think about it being doable. Honestly inspiring and seeing this video released motivated me to go for the harder things I have remaining. Definitely thanks for that. And if you don't mind give me a RADs lesson  :ninja:

This review was also made possible by the 30fps version. Only my first time watching it was in 60fps and I wish that was different. YES I'm a stubborn old luddite but it just isn't it and looks floaty to the max. I'm glad some people enjoyed the 'progress' but without a 30fps version I would've rewatched this so much less. Let's all refuse change please. Okay end of my little rant.

Onto the video itself! Seen most of the stunts before so there were not many surprises, but there were two obvious surprises that got me super hyped.

[0:47 - 1:08] - VC - Natbump: Obvious spot that people didn't even start trying because it seemed too outrageous, awesome job. The stats honestly surprised me when I saw the ISB, less than I expected. Having to hit the edge to stop sounds like a nightmare.
[1:09 - 1:16] - SAiVC - Backbump to Prec: One of my favorites, cool spot and even better execution.
[1:17 - 1:26] - VC - Bump to Grind to Boat: Think I said this before but not a fan. Boat also doesn't really add anything for me, just not my cup of tea. I prefer Daffy's stunt from the boat to the same rail for example.
[1:27 - 1:40] - VC - Airport P2B: Now this is one I love seeing in the video. Obvious idea that I've seen people get close to and you nailed it. Those first two camera angles really add to it. Odd to see that slight slip when going over the packer and still landing it. Speed for daysssss I guess  :P
[1:41 - 1:47] - SAiVC - Natbump to Highway: This was one of the first stunts for the video right? Like it a lot and would be a standout in basically every collab but here it gets almost overlooked which is a funny thought.
[1:48 - 1:55] - VC - PSM to Helipad: Great improvement to the stunt from WviMis, definitely like it and finally a clean landing from the ground up of that helipad.
[1:55 - 2:05] - SAiVC - Wall Bonk to 360 to Wallride to Grind: Didn't know I was watching a SA video? Good looking stunt, nice job.
[2:07 - 2:15] - LC - Bump to Krail to Double Grind: Great execution on this one and a great improvement to the old Eddeman stunt. Hopefully this stunt can be a small reminder to fckr that he has unfinished business that needs to be released.
[2:16 - 2:24] - SAiVC - Double Krail to Grind: Also one of the first stunts for the video right? Told you it was old by Neo in Relapse and you added some nice spins but that doesn't really do it for me. It's a great execution though obviously, cannot get any better than that basically.
[2:26 - 2:33] - LC - Tankbump: Good to finally see this done legitimately after all this time. One of the best moments of the video for me when the song kicks in and you look at that rotation all the way up. Monolith opener vibes. Absolutely sick.
[2:35 - 2:43] - SAiVC -  BSM to Prec: Slightly annoyed it was landed with that super odd PSM set-up after you had already done this since this is so much better. Hats off since I hate to try BSMs. Great job.
[2:44 - 2:57] - SAiVC -  PSM to BB Grind: I think I'll have to try this just to feel how hard it is since it took you a long time from what I can recall. Sooo many bails against that wall  :cheersad: Also a spot many people saw but nobody ever really attempted. I guess that's already an indication of the difficulty I think haha.
[2:59 - 3:07] - LC - Natbump to BB: This run-up nicely shows how you are able to move a bike around. Full control, awesome job.
[3:07 - 3:23] - LC - Tower P2B: After seeing Gryzlek get close to this in ways that would want to make you rip your hair out it was nice to see it done. One of the most obvious spots left in LC I reckon but it's pretty limit with the speed obtainable. Amazing.
[3:25 - 3:40] - VC - Curb Bump to Curve Grind: Not the biggest fan but that grind was far longer than I expected it to be when I first saw the clip. Good job.
[3:41 - 3:55] - VC - Corked P2B: Another stunt that I loved seeing done legitimately. Such a good looking stunt and patiently waiting for the bails and close attempts you got here. And what a great shot before the main clip, really shows the sheer height. Highest ISB landing in the VC map, sick.
[3:56 - 4:08] - VC - Drop Bump to Wallride to Grind: Another one of my favorites. Great spot and great (packerless) execution. Could've fit in a fckr video which is a high praise in my opinion. It's hard to find a great new grind in VC these days and that's one removed from the list of possibilities for sure.
[4:09 - 4:16] - VC - Double Bump: Toyed with this idea but never actively tried it, awesome job.
[4:17 - 4:24] -  LC - PSM to Crane Prec: I know there were camera issues or something like that but I'm not a fan of that being the main angle of such a sick stunt. Will give this one a go for shits and giggles but I have no illusions of actually sticking that landing  One of my favorites for sure. Dedication paid off big time.
[4:25 - 4:25] - LC - Skimmer MAG: Didn't have this on the bingo card but you went and executed Barney's idea on this spot. Madlad. 10/10
[4:36 - 4:45] - SAiVC - CSM to Prec: I'm soooo glad this made it in. Only thing missing on my wishlist is that freeway stunt :P Would've liked to see a normal camera angle of this, made the stunt less impactful not seeing the height of it. Maybe my favorite stunt of the video although I'm not enjoying the idea of the look on your face when I reminded you of this stunt for the 100th time after you had seemingly already landed it but kept it secret  :ninja: 11/10
[4:46 - 5:08] - LC - Dam Grind: Again one of those spots people know but cannot land. And not bailing at the end on top which took many many extra hours I believe. Absolutely sick grind. Camera angle made it look smaller than it is.
[5:09 - 5:22] - SAiVC - Bump: The legendary spot itself made it in after an amount of time I cannot comprehend. That first shot of the bike flying through the air between the building would look nicely framed on your wall :P Definitely one of the best natural bumps ever done if not the best ever. I also know this song very well so I was slightly confused when you landed it and the song was not over. I had a puzzled look one my face for about a second until..
[5:23 - 5:40] - Finisher: THIS THING SHOWED UP. Jesus christ how on earth are you even able to look at this and think 'yep I have a chance of doing this let's invest 200+ hours'?? Unreal and I don't see a bigger stunt being done ever. What a way to end the video.

Some more general feedback: The stunting level in this video is insane and it would require something so sick the hospital has pronounced it dead to beat it. I mean there are many stunts in here people can only dream of and here they are back to back, it's mad. Having said that: just like Cenotaph it was PCJ only which, combined with 2-3 of the grinds, felt like a place where this video could've been even better as dumb as that sounds. Because of my lacking big air skills I've always enjoyed the variety of stunting and that wasn't in here. But apart from that I don't see how this can be beaten ever.

General thoughts about the music and editing and such: Heard this song one too many times so when the first notes hit I was a bit disappointed to be honest but starting from the airport p2b it made sense why you picked this one. It just fits so well with the stunts you collected that I enjoyed this song again for the first time in a long while. Would've loved a bit of a darker theme to go with it though, never really enjoyed the look of this sky and the color palette but that's me. To continue with the stuff I liked less I can understand why some people said they didn't like the many previews of the stunts before they happened, kind of takes the surprise away you know? A part of me felt that way even though I knew the stunts already. I have to say all those shots looked utterly amazing, really nice framing and the slowmo looked awesome. Great job on those. Some stunts also only had a cinematic angle as the main angle (PSM to crane, Ambulance CSM to the top, Skimmer MAG and the purple precision) and I cannot get into that with these bangers. They deserved more in my opinion as a cinematic angle rarely displays the stats and difficulty well. Overall I loved the editing don't get me wrong, you have an eye for it that not many have. Rewatched it many times and I imagine I will watch it again frequently in the coming years. Awesome work once again man and sad to hear you won't take on more projects but I can understand that for sure. You spend a lot of time on it and there needs to be a line somewhere. Looking forward to the things you'll let that creative energy flow into.

Finally I had some free time to make a decent post on that legendary video ♥

First of all, I'd like to thank you for trusting me to share the whole stuff since the beginning of the making of this project, it was very entertaining to watch the stuff you sent during the years.

I knew 99% of the stunts and they still surprised me on the final video. You're a legend, Andrew
And that finisher... duuuude, you fucking did it! I was suspecting you did it and you tried to fool me hahahaha, fucking amazing dude, that's so fucking LEGENDARY!

I know pretty much what will be released on the 19/11 and I'm sure that people will respect the effort you've put into these insane spots. It's enough to prove that everything was 100% legit and the effort you put ramming into objects was something INSANE and deserves some respect.

About the edit, the first time I watched I didn't like it too much, being honest, but after rewatching it sometimes, it grew on me and now I'm inlove with that clean edit. Gud fckin job for you too, mr Sid ♥
I watched the 30 fps version and still prefer it, don't kill me :ninja:

Barney finally have a substitute for his throne, now he can rest in peace

Legendary video
I was here, kids

Jesus dude. This lived up to the hype and then some. Many of those spots that many people know and have thought about and just say "somebody has to land that someday" such as Darkstars ambulance prec in SAiVC or the opener bump and you nailed them. Then some other i didnt even think about which blew me away such as the bump2wallride2grind near the airport (my personal fav of the video) and the LC double grind near the police station. I can see why this video took so long, one of the best solos ever made well done.

Jason killed it as usual with the editing. The 60 fps was silky smooth and i actually loved it. Love me some Deftones so good choice there.

Gonna be rewatching this one for a while excellent job lads.

some crazy stuff man! Really didnt expect the level that this video would be at, especially since you were usually an SA stunter.

Just curious what made you come back to it after all these years? I sometimes miss the feeling that stunting gave me, but just hard to find the time for the grind these days. Crazy to think that one of your SA solos inspired me to start stunting, which at this point is almost 20 years ago, and we are still here in this forum.

I love landing big/hard stuff, but i find the same (if not more sometimes) joy by landing small/funky stuff, there's no need to grind endless hours on stunting  :a-cheer: also sharing with the community is one of the most fun things.

A combination of things really. I was already trying some easier spots in 2019 or so, just for a lil fun and nostalgia. From which I ended up with a few reps, without a video in mind for them. That lead to trying some of my older unlanded ideas, as well as some 'known' harder spots. Some of which I did actually manage to land (tank bump, dam grind).

I'd say around mid-late 2022 it became a commitment to put these reps into a solo. And at the same time - screw it, might as well make it the best I can. With age and responsibilities it's unlikely I'll have another opportunity again in the future.

Guess I'll leave a comment as well:

I was really surprised to see a VC solo from you, as KM said, for some reason I had always thought of you as an SA stunter, who occasionally popped up in VC videos (like most SA people do), but never thought that you'd dedicate your time to doing a solo, let alone a solo, that is this amazing. ;D

My jaw was on the floor throughout the entire video. A lot of legendary spots, that people have had in mind for almost a decade have finally been landed (without TAS). This video embodies the spirit of GTAS and perseverance like no other and is partially the reason, why I decided to de-rust as well and return to the hood.

Thanks DC!  :euro:

Outstanding. The stunts were absolutely jaw-dropping, tackling locations that were previously thought to be impossible. Watching these stunts landed so perfectly was nothing short of amazing.

The editing by Haywire was clean and polished, perfectly complementing the stunts without ever overshadowing them. The music choice was also spot-on, adding to the overall atmosphere and making the video even more engaging.

Hats off to DeathCobra for breaking barriers with this one and to Haywire for delivering an edit that was truly worthy of the incredible stunts. Vice City stunting continues to evolve, and this video is proof of just how far we've come. This is definitely one for the GTAStunting history books.

What a feat in stunting history. You're a madlad.
It's one thing to find these spots, figure out if they are technically possible and another to see them through. The amount of dedication and determination you had for these spots and the game in general really shined through. I also loved seeing the stunting progression of these spots as that gave so much insight into the intricacies that are so hard to spot in a stunting video. There were some stunts that almost seemed like fillers in the light of all the insane big air stuff, but I know that even those have been tough to land. That just speaks volume about the quality of stunts that were landed in this. There was also a nice combination of grinds, big-airs, and precs, which was important for the video's dynamic. Seeing some of the TAS stunts landed clean as well as some old spots (such as the LC pillar which Gryzlek came so close to) and other spots that were just mere fantasies before you came around was impressive and validating to see. You really pushed the boundaries of what is possible.

Song choice and the complimentary edit by Jason was a great combination, focusing on clean angles and great visuals that let the stunts speak for themselves. Some run-ups I would have liked to see more of, as well as some alternate angles on the still camera shots, but I also get that the song was pretty short. Either way, really enjoyable watch and I liked that you tried out something new with 60fps. It didn't make me want to incorporate that in future edits but I liked the vision and outcome.

This made me want to dust off some old spots I felt discouraged from trying again. Thanks for the inspiration.
GG!

Thank you for the video DeathCobra, popped by here because of the awesome video that youtube algorithm recommended for some reason. Very well edited, nice atmosphere with the song and kickass stunts that require unbelievable patience and mastery to land. Even tho I mainly played SA myself, the VC engine is just more epic with the big air stuff and fast grinds.

The story for behind this video is so relatable with the adult life and all. Very often I still think about the good old days here in the forum and stunting. I remember the old TMS videos and you being part of them especially inspired me to join here back in the 2000's. Thank you for that.

Wishing you all the best if you are still reading this and greetings from Finland.
