Title: Need help with choosing a gaming laptop
Post by: Shingetsu on February 09, 2014, 04:47:51 AM
My budget is about 1500 ~ 2500$ and i'm aiming for a new powerful laptop since my old laptop sucked so i can enjoy my Crysis 3 with high graphic setting smoothly .
Here's the laptops i'm still confusing in choosing one of them .
- MSI GS70 : http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Computer-GS70-2OD-001US-17-3-Inch/dp/B00ENL0CH8/ (http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Computer-GS70-2OD-001US-17-3-Inch/dp/B00ENL0CH8/)
- ASUS G750JH : http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ROG-G750JH-DB71-17-3-Inch-Laptop/dp/B00EZ8BJNK (http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ROG-G750JH-DB71-17-3-Inch-Laptop/dp/B00EZ8BJNK)
- Alienware 18 : http://www.amazon.com/Alienware-ALW18-3002sLV-18-Inch-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B00FEE7D5W (http://www.amazon.com/Alienware-ALW18-3002sLV-18-Inch-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B00FEE7D5W)

The reason people buy those gaming laptops is because they need/want portability you know ? why i have to buy a laptop that never work smoothly with my games ? I just need to hear which one should i get from you guys , not Gaming or Laptop dumb things. I don't care if they're overpriced btw .

Gaming laptops will run games better than regular laptops, sure. But it'll still run like crap. And it's a laptop, there just are big disadvantages to it.

Gaming + laptop = very high prices and shit.

if you wanna game, buy a PC.
if you want to be portable, buy a laptop.

make your choice.

Would say that the ASUS G750JH would be the best option.

All 3 of them are overpriced as shit, but if you're dead on getting one of them then get the Asus one like Rusch said. Bigger hard drive and bigger RAM.

Also, as everyone has mentioned before, it's a big waste of money. Honestly I know it sounds great to have a portable gaming device but if you really want one then buy a ds or a psp. Computer gaming is not made for being portable and you're going to have one dick of a time with it.

Also, laptops aren't built to last longer than two years. Not without having to keep it plugged in 24/7.

Better off getting a pc and building it. A lot cheaper and a lot more stronger.

Bump.

I agree with buying or building a desktop instead of investing in a laptop if you want to game. It makes sense, and you get more bang for bucks. However, I have an alienware 14 (I know, smh) with a gtx 765/i7 4700mq and I'm happy with it so far. But it seems ASUS is the best laptop for power with a fair price.
