Title: Video Effects on Vegas

I am sorry if this has been said somewhere but i have looked,Ok i have sony Vegas 4.0 and i want to add  "Noise"  the video effect or any other of the video effects, but ho do i get the effect to happen at a part of a certain clip? because i have tried and all it does is play the effect on all of the clip...so any help will be really great.

yeah right. how does that help him. its the exact same in both versions. anyways a simple way to do this is select the part of the clip you want effected, and press S to split it up. then you drag the effect on it.

Do you have to pay for vegas 6.0?

I have a question, you know the way on Windows M.M and you have to save it as a movie file, well on this do you have to go on  
"Render as", and another question, when i am rendering it i always red crosses with a black background flaskhing up in different part of the scenes, how can i stop this from happening?.
