hey guys, i really don't know how to correctly describe this problem in english, but i'll try my best :/
ok, some days ago i gave my laptop to my dad because he had do do some powerpoint presentation and shit. then, when he wanted so save it on his usb stick, he accidently twisted one of those orange-colored contacts in one of the places where you can plug in usb sticks. some days later i got my laptop back, and tried to plug in my mouse in exactly that place. then my laptop turned of immediately. since this happened, none of the 4 usb thingys on my laptop works anymore. i don't know what to do now. ideas, anyone? :(

How did he manage to destroy a USB-port I thought these things are as fool-proof as it gets. Anyways still have warranty on your laptop? Your laptop might be shorting when you put something in the usb-port.

I think you need to take the laptop's case off and verify if the cables that relate the port are fine or burned or something like that.
