Who here is playing Tribes Ascend? It's a nice and fun futuristic shooter with huge maps, the ability to blaze through maps with either jetpack or skiing from slopes that you can beta test now for free at www.tribesascend.com (http://www.tribesascend.com) and if you're eventually converting to the full game once it hits the shelves, all your items will get converted over.
You just need to register at the site in order to download the game.

Played a few matches yesterday, was quite fun. Already did pretty good (because I thought I was gonna get raped :lol:). Too bad you can decide which team to join after each match though, would've been better if it was just auto-assign or same team each match.

Sure it's just that the Friendmaking-System is kinda retarded, me and Gavran had to rely on luck whether we end up in the same queue and then I could add him to the friendslist via the scoreboard, allthough I had to quit the game one time before the friendslist got updated.
It's quiet fun, it's a lotta different from TF2 and for me way too fast at the moment, I like to play engineer because and me Gavran would camp the flag with 3 sentries and they couldn't do shit haha :lol:

Don't mistake this class for being easy, the Mortar take time to get used to, and I can say this guy got some skills.

This next video might not seem much, but "Blue Plate Special" that blue-gold medal he's getting in the video is the sign for killing someone mid-air, probably one of the hardest things to do with a weapon in tribes, imagine hitting anything flying at different speeds with a weapon which isn't a hit scan weapon and has travel time.

If some1 wants to know: the graphic cfg is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Hi-Rez Studios\HiRezGames\tribes alpha\TribesGame\Config - the cfg is called "tribes" ( i think its that one)

@Neotec: there's one in there as well but you need to use the one in My Documents > My Games > Tribes Ascend > Config > tribes.ini
basically you copy the lines posted in the description of the video and paste them in the tribes.ini file. You can adjust them however you want if you got some knowledge about it. Beware, your game will look like utter shit but it will run smooth. Basically it's a config for low end PC's.

I run the game on minimal with a quadcore 3.1 ghz and it still lags like fuck. All my parts in the PC are topnotch, this game just has a ridiculous requirement.

Not a valid question for this game, there are matches i end up with 2-3 kills because I felt like capping the flag.

I am doing rather shabby, transitioning for TF2 to this doesn't work, I usually end up with 0.5/0.8 KD because theres just way too much happening and you always have to take into account that your shot will go a little bit more to the left/right depending on how you move :P

As i heard you can use these 2 methods. I've tried both now, it works, atleast for me it works :lol: . (maybe its just my strange pc :lol: )
