I was thinking of buying one! I guess the choice is between a Nintendo DSi or PSP (feel free to suggest others), which is better and why?
On the DS I thought I could play Chrono Trigger and Chinatown Wars. Some of those Mario games should be great too, and perfect for simple fun during car/train travels.
The PSP has Tekken: Dark Resurrection and LittleBigPlanet.
These are games that are in series that I'm familiar with from PS1/2, but I'm sure there are loads of other games I'd enjoy on both consoles. So which one do you guys think has the best games and most fun gameplay? And which games would you recommend?
Is it possible to download and play old PS1 classics on the PSP, or is it only those few that are re-released, like Chrono Trigger for DS?
I'm assuming the PSP is more powerful than the DS? Feel free to share your knowledge on this too.

I have psp, and i'm more than happy with it, i don't really know DS but i think psp is cooler, dunno why :lol:
i dunno if you can hack DS, but you can get custom firmware to psp, and then you don't have to buy games :euro:

i dunno what about VITA i have 3003 and it's great really, internet, movies, songs pics.
well i guess ds has the same, but i even like design of psp more, so i'd suggest you psp :3
also why limit yourself with dark resurrection if you can have tekken6? :3

Nintendo DSi/3DS just because I'm a nintendo fanboy. Can't really name that much about since mine got broken 2 years ago <_< .

Hmmm, I'd buy the DS just because of The Legend of Zelda series. On the other hand, I'd buy the PSP because of the games that Veno listed in his post.

I have a DS with custom firmware. It's very easy. Just buy a R4 ds card online and follow the manual. Cost me like 30€ and didn't have to buy a single game :happy: With that R4 card you can also put photos, videos and music on it. Somewhat the same as a PSP except for the fact that the menu is kinda cheap looking. But what do you want for 30€...

The DS is more about cartoonish gameplay and looks. The PSP tries to focus on great graphics but the last time I tried it they were kinda ugly. But that was 1.5 years ago. Dunno how they are now.

well you can set custom firmware manually for PSP and you don't have to pay a single penny, just google it and forllow those simple and easy steps :P
well as i said i have 3003 vers, it's the last one, except go. and vita.
it depends on the game, mostly they are just like on the pc or console, there are some small ones which are shitty iron man for example, but metal gear solid. gta, and all others i listed just fucking rock!
i think by now, you should decide already Red :P
if you want to play playstation in bed then psp, but if you want to play network games like you can on the internet then DS :euro: :euro: :euro:

The only thing I hate about the PSP is the firmware bullshit...
Getting pirated games on the DS is quite easy actually, you just need a flash card such as the R4 or the acekard (they're cheap, max 10 dollars). You can play videos and songs on it if it doesn't support them (only for the ds lite).
Honestly, I love both consoles, but if I were to buy one right now, I'd get a DSi and maybe a PSVita afterwards. :>

If you are getting a DS (which I would prefer because I have one myself) I would suggest to get a 3DS. Not necessarily because it's 3D but because from now on all the new DS games will most likely be 3DS only.
Though I'm not sure about using a hackcard with a 3DS, because they release updates for it which then block the hack cards but then the hackers of course will update their hackcard firmware (same goes for DSi). I guess if you want to play every DS game released so far and don't care about the new stuff, get a DSi. If you want to play the new DS games, get a 3DS.
or get a PSP whatever :P

damn, i had this when i was 13 :lol:
It was awesome, i had THUG pro skater, and need for speed: underground.
graphics were nothing special, but it was awesome :>
The only minus was that there is no lite on the screen.
Anyway, when i was going to buy a portable console, i was asking for sugestions, and people recomended psp.
i have never even tried ds, maybe it's actually cooler :lol:

PSP! Rockband, God of War, Motorstorm Arctic edge, Chinatown wars, MGS, Tekken, Littlebigplanet and maaany more :> Hell, I even have windows98 installed on it.

PSP > all.
Though I'd wait for the PSP Vita, it looks amazing :D though that's assuming you want "real" gaming as apposed to just quick entertainment which is what nintendo specializes in.
I realised after getting a bunch of actual games on my phone that I didn't like playing them much and ended up playing those little minigame type games more often in situations where I was bored but still had my phone.
ja :P though you can get those little minigames on PSP still.. so.. psp XD

my phone, because all other devices are excessive money spending. Also mobile phones of this generations are so powerfull and have tons of free games, i don't understand why would someone spend like 200-300 euro on a portable gaming device just to have better graphics that can never compare to high end PC ;x
