Title: VC crashes at startup
Post by: A maid on December 13, 2011, 12:27:11 PM
This game hates me awfully much.

Problem is simple, I start the game, I get to see the taskbar and a mostly black screen, and it freezes. Can't click anything but if I hit space or esc it crashes.
This happens with every copy of VC. I tried changing my Catalyst Control Center settings, uninstalling recent programs, changing the audio quality, rebooting, deleting the .set file,
changing the compatibility mode, running as admin and system restore.

I am not willing to reinstall the game as that only leads to more problems, I lost the install disks, don't even start about torrenting. Also I'm not gonna reformat for this problem.

Whoever gets this fixed gets a bike/CC/credits/whatever from me.

Go to gamecopyworld and download one of their fixed exes, see if that helps. It sounds like an exe problem considering you're not even getting to any kind of menu screen before it crashes.

As I thought, nothing changed.

Reinstalling it gives me a fuckload of problems. It just does and I hate having to repeat myself.

Edit: I just copied a folder TBV sent me a long time ago, it didn't work. I don't think the problem is within the game's files.

I don't think the problem is within the game's files.

Also, I don't think there's a site where you can upload >1GB files without having to fucken pay for it.

Perhaps he can use hjsplit, and obviously split up the file ,upload it, and then you can download it ^^
Good luck

Edit : obviously you would need hjsplit also to mix the files
Hope it would be any help!

I still doubt it'd help if other people's copies didn't help..

edit: FIXED! What I did was change the Data Execution Prevention options and checked the upper option, something with Windows services. I'll still sell the bike though, I just had to take a
picture of it... that's where all the trouble started. :cc_detective: Locked.
