Title: Stunt Montage Clips
Post by: MikeyMouse on November 23, 2011, 01:08:11 PM
Hey guys, i've been filming some random stunts on GTA IV and was just wondering your opinion on them (as on my test video the stunts seemed to be what let it down). I've numbered the stunts so any of them that you like just comment below saying the number(s), some stunts are performed in the same location so its up to you if you want stunts from the same place included twice, or only one of them, thanks for helping me out :).

Would be sick if you precisioned the roadsign on the second stunt there, would love to see that done. I liked the fact that all of your stunts were done naturally, without the use of a secondary vehicle. Try to land some buildings and such though, since that sort of stuff is what mainly impresses people. Have you seen any videos of the IV stunters on GTAS? Raek, Slayer, myself, flow, etc. Perhaps try some already landed stunts to get the feel for things and then find new similar spots and land them using the same technique(s).

Looking forward to see you improve, the stunts in the video seem to me like a highly promising start  :)

Ah I wish the bike would just stop when i landed on that road sign, I'll try it a few (hundred) more times and see what happens, but I reckon landing that so that the bike somehow gets jammed or something will be very lucky. And yeah that's what I'm going for, every single stunt being natural, without any mods, but hopefully can be up to standard with some of the good stunts you guys do :). I'm currently attempting a stunt just down the road from these stunts to get on top of a building naturally, extremely hard though, hit the wall about a metre underneath the roof and turned off my PS3 for a few hours XD. Cheers for the comment though dude :).

I liked em. I'm not a tremendous fan of IV stunting, but your stuff was pretty good. From what I've seen, nobody really stunts the third island, so you've probably got a better chance of landing original stuff there once you've got the method for nailing bigger stuff down pat. As Noah mentioned, I shall build an ark twenty cubits by twenty cubits...and I shall try to land higher and higher building tops and the like.

Cheers dude :), and wow nobody really stunts on the third island? I can land three buildings so far i reckon on the third, I'll give them a go and fingers crossed they are original stuff, cheers for the advice :).

Thanks dude :) I'm only just realising the amount of time you have to put in to get just a handful of good stunts xD.

Looks awesome for your first stunts in IV mate ;). I wouldn't limit yourself to one island though. Also my best piece of advice for you is to experiment with different methods and different spots rather than using the same bumps and ramps. When you think of a video in of itself one of the most important things is to have a variety of different stunts. Have you heard of grinding? There's a bridge by the beach at the first island you can ramp onto using the ramp just in front of it, it's a great place to practice.

PS. Don't be disheartened if you find it really hard to grind in IV, it's much harder than VC and SA because you don't lock onto the rail, you have to shift your balance all the time in order to stay on. Most of the best IV stunters have trouble doing it, especially on console.

Cheers dude:) and yeah we're searching through the third island at the moment, some stuff with the car park, landing some buildings, and generally just looking for some bumps around. And i'll give it a go man, it will prob take a few hours or so to get the method right but should be worth it :).

you should definitly try the bikes of TLAD like the double T custom! its easier to use then the other bikes in my opinion and goes way faster too
watch stunt videos on youtube and try to attempt them would be my best advice  ;D
