im thinking about buying a new mouse...
if your mouse is working normal just without gta sa, then dont buy it.
the error must comewhere from sa, check it from sa
-
Happens to me all the time in SA. Just keep pressing ESC and moving the mouse until it works again.

draguN have same problem if i remember right..

run it with the compatibility mode of Win Xp sp 3. dunno which gta you're playing , but i had this problem too with my sa after i installed win 7 and now it works fine ;) . the method of plani works too , but i needed to do it for 5 minutes until it worked :P

I had the same problem, then I ran it as administrator with the compatibility mode of win xp and then I got the same thing plani had. It would work some times and other don't. But randomly in the last week it has started working all the time. It's a little magical :3

run compatibility mode for win 98 on every variation of gta 3 everything all the time

Why please why of all the people you had to come back :( ? But yeah try the stuff that has been suggested here it works wonders.

connect another thing to your usb hole and it shoud work .
I do connect a gamepad in another usb hole and then my mouse works.

Hepens to me alot..
Just press Esc untill its fixed

I have this problem in every GTA-game and it has nothing to do with the mouse itself so don't buy a new one. Running it in W98 compatibility mode doesn't fix it for me but it seems to be working more often in that mode compared to others.

Right-click on gta_sa.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Disable visual themes & desktop composition. Press one time ESC ingame, et voilá. (+ you probably need to start it as administrator)

Well well well, look who we've got here. I remember the old times of you vs 'suspicieusone'.
Anyway, the problem is different for everyone. To some it works all the time, to some it doesn't. However when I had my defect GPU in my system I had to mash the esc button
a million times before it'd work. Deleting the set file, running as admin and a different compatibility is all I can suggest.
