So my mom is learning french and wants to listen to some french music with lyrics so she can work with the texts. I guess it's a long shot, but since there are a lot of french stunters on here I thought I'd ask you guys if you know anything appropriate! Thanks in advance :)

Celeste - Afin de tromper l'ennui (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2cuSsRm9ts#)

-
Serge Gainsbourg - Ballade de Melody Nelson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIDuE4U_fZg#)
Might be a bit weird to understand but what he says is not that hard. A french legend.
-
I agree with Nuc, but this cover is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Enjoy!
Elysian Fields - Les amours perdues (Serge Gainsbourg cover) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arMkaro6jRQ#)
and I also recommend Les Doigts De L'Homme
Les Doigts De L'Homme - Zinedine Tzigane (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9USiHQFrxTM#)
-
Edith Piaf - Non, Je ne regrette rien (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3Kvu6Kgp88#)
I also listen to the french band KYO a lot, check out their album "300 Lesions" they're pretty catchy.

Fuck yeah awesome song !

Now that's french art.

I also recommend Serge Gainsbourg, "Histoire De Melody Nelson" is the album that I rated 10/10 the easiest, ever. Truly a masterpiece, "Initials B.B." and "L'Homme à la Tête de Chou" are also pretty great.
There's also plenty of incredible black metal and darkwave bands in France, look for them on rateyourmusic.com.
