Well i very much hate to see this secret go away but atleast now i wont have to see all those army pics with scan lines and corny animation :P
first off make your canvas
now brush it up some
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v393/mozh_pit/111111.jpg)
now get your render and put it on there
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v393/mozh_pit/222222.jpg)
now on the render layer hit ctrl+u,check the colorize, and use these settings
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v393/mozh_pit/33333.jpg)
now grab the regular lasso tool
and circle what you want to stay showing
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v393/mozh_pit/444444.jpg)
now do right click and select feather 10, Now put a layer mask on it
near the bottom right and NOW YOU'VE BLENDED!!!!!!w00t!!!
now to color
Ok. hit ctrl+e until youve merged all your layers
now go to image>adjustments>color balance and play with all 3 settings until you get what you want.
heres my final result:

-
Great tut dude, that really helped me somewhat.
-
nice but no need to merge all... just have to make a color balance layer over all ;)
-
yer but i like yo keep it small,
Anyways i got more tuts but i think is better if we make a sub thingy for tutorials
-
Nice tutorial, and the fallout series were awesome games.
-
lol how do y'all brush so nice? if i could do that i'd ceratinly try this :P
-
That's good job Impulse! Nice and simple techique. ;)
-
Great tut! Only 1 thing how can i let a part of it fade? If I use the "mask layer" thing, the whole thing dissapears :o And yes, i suck @ PS :P
-
Daaammnnn this tutorial owned, now I can make some fancy sigs now [span style=\'font-size:30pt;line-height:100%\']^.^[/span]
-
[XG]XeviOuZ^, wtf is that sig!? Eeeeew! :S
-
i know, psycho made it :P . But can any1 explain to me how to use the fade effect?
-
remove that eye destroying sig and i may be willing to help
-
LOL
Nice blending tut man, keep it coming
-
Ill make a tut with a brushing today
-
That didnt work.
So, I've done all brushing and put the render there
(http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/1566/example3qx.png)
I choose the area I want to show with the lasso
(http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/3908/example25zn.png)
Then I press the layer mask button
(http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/645/example33za.png)
It doesn't fade like yours, it just cuts the area around the selection.
-
Yes, that's exactly what happens to me.
and Bull3tpr00f, i removed the "eye-destoying"sig :P
-
I think he forgot to tell us to use the feather. :P Rightclick before you are deleting, and choose feather.
-
ok. *opens ps* :o it works :D thanx

[span style=\'color:green\']I think the idea of making a whole section dedicated to tutorials would be fantastic. I don't even have photoshope (deliberate misspelling there due to private joke between myself and Lethalboy44) anymore, I couldn't do it and got angry and deleted it, but with tutorials like these, I think I could really get into enjoying it and having fun with designing things, and my friends wouldn't all laugh at me for being a crappy artist - type - person.
