Title: How to suit up
Post by: Kukiel on March 21, 2011, 08:55:44 AM
How do i get suit up? I know there's skins to find somewhere in VC. Do i have to download savegame with game already passed and look for it in the city or is there any easier way?

There are some suits that are already available from the start e.g. training suit, but I guess you'd have to mod the clothes to your player or have a game with a certain percentage of completion :P

Well with Dannye's in the game you should have all the clothes in the game  :hmm: If no you should download a save game with all the missions to have all the clothes.

Did you do; Command -> Rebuild Archive

Sure i did.
It worked after all just not in game.

Now that i replaced gta3 back to original (well kind of original) one not even dannyes savegame would load.  :hmm:

I'm quite fucked

Huh weird, you sure you are trying to load the correct save game? Try starting a new game :ajaja:

Or does VC not even open up at all?

I already deleted wrong savegame and i have only dannyes left.
As i said game does load because i can even check player skins (and therefor also player.dff) but game won't load. I will try new game.

It stops in the same spot - moreless middle. Looks like I'm not going to play this game for a while  :cc_detective:

Huh, this is weird. I'm not the best expert when it comes to this but I guess you should reinstall then? Not that much work :P

I know but i hate adding Neo's roads  :euro: I'm gonna do that next week i guess. Plus to install it i'd have to uninstall all the other game versiones i suppose. That is SAiVC and LC.

Nah, I don't think so. You can just reinstall VC and LC and SAiVC will automatically find the VC User Files folder thingy.

and yeah I guess adding Neo's roads is a pain in the ass lol, still wonder what could've gone wrong. I also use the suit dff and for me nothing went wrong. I'll send you mine next time, maybe you had a corrupt one or something.

If you could explain exactly how you tried to change out the player model, I may be able to help.

I extracted player9.dff, changed it name to player.dff and replaced original player.dff with it. I did the same with .txd at first, for a mistake. When game stoped working i dragged and pasted original gta3.img into models folder, replacing the other file. I think that's when i made mistake. I used to delete gta3.img first and then copy and paste original file. I have win7 and i think that this might be the reason too (i had some problems with vc already). And i also could possibly click join the files what coused fucking up both files - this makes the most sense to me.

When replacing a txd or diff file within the gta3.img with image tool you must "delete" the original file than add the new one. Choosing "replace"  in image tool always seems to cause problems.

Also, if you rename files before adding, TXD Workshop has a dff check feature in it's options. It's a good idea to check that out. Sometimes there is a name mismatch which will cause problems in the game.
