I installed my new hard drive earlier today.. and i can't seem to connect to the internet.. i went to network connections and i didn't see the local area network on there? anyone know how to resolve this?

well, if you physically put it in yourself... maybe you dislodged your network card? how do you connect to the internet?

Which OS, 32- or 64-bit? Does the hard drive work properly? Go to the disc management and see if it's being used to anything (which it shouldn't).
Make sure you didn't disconnect any cables when installing the hard drive, disconnect the network cables and connect them again. Boot your network device, whatever you're using to connect to the internet. Also Sweet's second question is quite relevant.

probably dislodged the net card. check that, unless you've got onboard. then go to device manager and see what is says for network adapters

by new hard drive do you mean that you're trying to boot from a new install? lol..
