What is yours fps and on what specs? Im looking for some good specs so i can buy them and play IV like a bitch :cc_detective:
-
Pentium dual core 2x2.5 GHz
RAM: 2 gb
VGA: NVidia GeForce 9800gt 512 mb
Runs on 25-30 fps on low graphics and 10-15 on maximum.
-
benchmark around 80 on full settings, ingame between 60-80 on full.
-
-1440x900
-All high, water and that other thing above it on very high
-Shadows off, all shadows.. cause if I set them to low my FPS drops with around 30
-All the meter at around 50 (so halfway..)
-No commandline yet, forgot to add it
-no patches.. cause I still get crashes after I install them and I dont need shadows to play this game :neen:
and I still get like 50-60 FPS most of the time.. sometimes it drops to 40 though.. near water and near the center of the second island :hmm:
ow forgot my PC.. its not as great as ^ one but still..
-Intel i5 650 (dual core yes..) @ 3.2 GHz
-ATI Radeon HD 5670 1GB.. yes its kinda a crappy card but you dont need a great one for IV.. (runs Crysis fine though..Medium settings ofcourse :euro:)
-6GB RAM(not the slow ones but the faster ones.. Too lazy to look em up)
-Dont know the motherboard :ninja:
-1.5 TB hard drive
-
Around 60fps on default settings. Runs pretty smooth.
i5 750
ATI 5770
4GB RAM
-
damn you guys 40-50fps its a dream come true
i used to have 20fps with traffic off and still only under bridge
im getting propably this soon:
Phenom II Quad Core X4 955
2x DDR3 Goodram 2GB
and i have 9800gt 1GB
hopefully will get some decent results this time ;d
-
that will do it yes, a decent or good quad core and sufficient RAM will do the trick, so be ready to play IV like we can :a-cheer:
-
kuk, don't expect a huge improvement. I had 30-40 with my 940 in the city, thought ur gonna have ddr3, may be a bit different as i used ddr2. good luck. :p
-
As taco said don't expect a huge improvement. I have a 955 myself @ 3.9 ghz and a HD5870 and I'm not even playing at max and I get like 30-40 fps. If you really want some great fps then get an Intel cpu instead since IV munches my little amd for breakfast.
Other than that the 955 works great for everything else I've tried.

Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58
samsung 2233rz 120hz <- Awesome

Hmm Rainbow and others. Is Intel Core i5 650 any good? I might buy it instead.
-
Easily the i5 750. It it a quad core whereas the 650 is a duel core etc.
-
Hmm its quite expensive for my pocket but i will think it over.
-
Whats the price difference between them ?
The Uk site i looked on has the 750 as the cheapest i5, i think its because it is the most popular one.
-
14 or 20
XD
-
Was there any need to have the text that big ?
-
the difference is about 100zł ~ 25€. It might not seem like a lot but i dont have too much money to spend.
-
Was there any need to have the text that big ?
if I is a problem with that?

Are you a poet?
Is that a rhetorical question?
What does it mean???
Ont. 3 fps <_< haven't tried any tweaks/fixes though, but I doubt they'd help in my case.
-
Ok sorry for bumping but i have final question then
Im buying:
Intel core i5 750 or 760
4gb ram
and im keeping 9800gt 1gb for now
Can i expect over 30fps on medium/high? :hmm:
Oh and i'll have windows 7 x64
e: ok so find this guy on yt - GTA 4 PC Gameplay 5 - i5 750 | 4 GB | 9800GT (HD) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8ixEaNf_QQ#ws) i think i will have more less the same fps or even more with x64 :) is that correct?
-
40-50
-
i think i will have more less the same fps or even more with x64 :) is that correct?
x64 OS will allow you to use your entire RAM capacity, yes, the limit of memory usage on 32 bits is approx. 4 GB but it's the total memory available to the system, so you need to count in gfx card memory as well as RAM.
So, with the 1 GB gfx card that you got and your plans to get a 4GB RAM, x64 is indeed a better solution and should give you a slight boost. The dude in this video had a 32bit OS which means he only had <3GB of his RAM available.
And as for me, I got 56 fps (pretty stable on that number, sometimes jumps but no more than 2-3fps up/down) in maxed-out full HD (1920x1080 resolution), and my specs are:
Intel Core i7 i930 2.8GHz
8GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD5870 1GB
-
I get 40-60 fps at max, with an i7 950, GTX 580 and 6GB Ram :)
-
I've got 40-60fps on Highest (without shadows), so I can easily record using Fraps (~35fps).
Quad 6600@3,4GhZ, 9800GT, 4GB 800Hz.
-
i got so about 60 - 80 fps
-
Had 115-130 with my HD 4850 512mb and now I have 90-110 with my GT 440 1gb.
-
30-60.
-
Never tried GTA IV on PC. I would explode or GTA IV simply wouldn't work or it would have 1-3 fps. :cc_detective:
-
i got so about 60 - 80 fps
you said your videocard is 256mb lol
-
10-15 :(
-
Maxed out graphics and 1920x1080 - 60 fps.
But I prefer to play with low graphics (same resolution), which gets me 80-100fps.
-
1920x1080 maxed out 58-60fps, I like playing with enb more though I get 40fps with it maxed.
-
10-15 :(
I have same FPS on old PC, and i done many stunts, but i lost all reps. and now i go tested GTAIV on new PC.
-
Hoping for 80+ on highest on my new PC :)
-
around 30 on a really shit pc
-
All high, no shadows (because the patch makes my game crash ) 1440x900(max for my monitor, will get a different on.. but not soon)
Got all the draw distance bars at around 50. But when stunting in a laggy place I sometimes turn it down, well, I mostly pull all the settings down then.
But anyway, at the higher settings I get around 50-60FPS
