Title: Best Fraps Settings?
Post by: Exibitingz on May 17, 2010, 05:18:57 PM
I play SA-MP, but when I record with Fraps, ( v3.03 btw), I get massive lag? Can people tell me their settings for SA and Fraps? Thanks.

Well first off, fraps DOES rape your fps. For ingame recording I usually have 32 fps.

If you can't even get 32 fps, here are some tips to pack on a few fps.
1. Check the "Don't sync audio with video"
2. If checked, uncheck the "Force lossless RGB capture"
3. Use 32 fps instead of 30
4. Assuming you have more space on your (D:) drive, change the destination for your clips to it.

If you still don't feel like you have enough fps, try recording at 15 fps and just double the playback rate in Vegas. No replay system in samp though..

Don't even listen to him, SA-MP is completely different than this retarded replay system in GTA, it won't be smooth, just fucking fast and laggy. In replays you can record at low fps because it SLOW down clip, that means you can speed up it in vegas. If you record in SA-MP on low fps it WON'T slow down clip, it will have THE SAME speed but will have less framerate, that why you can't speed up them, otherwise they will be fucking fast. I hope you understand what i mean, i wrote it already million times on forum but poeple are still being blind ;) As for your question, you must know how much fps do you got max while recording on samp and then just write it in fraps.

Flow you dumbass, read my text properly
No replay system in samp though..
I gave him that advice because samp and SA are running on the same engine.. Obviously. And so I was just putting it out there incase he has the same problem in SA, so don't come here bitching.

Oh god according to your post you gave him advice which works only on replays, not on samp/sa that's why im 'bitching'. It won't help him that why i told him to not do it...

enough offtopic just record at everything low in sa and 25 fps.

I can't believe you're creating an argument about this, I added that option INCASE he had something slightly similar in SA, I even stated that it wasn't a working option for samp, so please just quit it. I'm done.

You shouldn't be having a problem then. Try doing it on lower resolutions first and see if that helps.

Its always worth trying different version of fraps.
The first version of fraps i had was great, and for some reason i got a slightly newer version and it lagged every time i hit record.

Might work, might not.
Its worth a try isn't it ?
