Alright, I've got another problem. I have a 16:9 screen (laptop), running at 1366x768, and I can't choose that resolution in any GTA game. I can choose 1280x720 (16x9), but not higher than that. I have tried to add a custom resolution in the nVIDIA Control Panel (1366x768), but it didn't work.
What can be the problem? Thanks in advance
-
I have 1920x1080 resolution and in SA i can choose only 1680x1050. But i've found one way to choose 1980x1080, you need orginal gta_sa.exe :P
e/ ah just nocided you aren't talking only about SA, dunno what's problem
-
i've got this same problem
but the original gta_sa.exe isn't cracked, so how its will work?

I bet it's the same for VC/LC. But on my old crappy stationary PC (4:3), I had no problem at all choosing the right resolution, and I had the same install.
-
What laptop is that exactly?

GTA is kinda bullshit. I got an old 4:3 monitor. Maximum resolution is 2048x1536. On GTA the max available is 1600x1200. I've also enabled the 2048x1536 on the NVIDIA panel and its just available on the desktop. Somehow it worked a few times on GTA though when I randomly checked the GFX settings or changed it to record something.
Weird shit. Really would like to know how those resolutions can be enabled all the time aswell.

Fixed.
Ontopic: have you tried a very simple thing: other compatibility? Even so simple it might work :P

Well yes in general it has been said SA would just max support 1680x1050. But 1600x1200 actually is the highest stock option for me (cuz of the 4:3 format). Somehow worked on higher from time to time though. :P

That still doesn't solve the problem :P

See if you can add a custom resolution in the graphics driver control panel and either try to force it or see if you can chose it ingame after that.
Or you can edit the shortcut by right clicking the executable, choosing properties and adding this:" +widescreen 1 +szx 1366 +szy 768"
-
I wrote in the first post that I've tried a custom resolution, and it didn't work.
As for the other thing, where am I supposed to add that line?

I can't do it... It says that the source is incorrect or something

Now it worked, but I don't see a differense...
-
blame daffy for pulling commands out his ass
-
 funniest thing I've read all day
-
Yeah, I should do that!
-
I don't see why it shouldn't work as it works fine in BF2.
-
Or maybe it's me who doesn't see the differense...
By the way, in the options, should it say 1366x768 or the one I used before?

Try choosing 640x480, in some games you have to do that when you've added a custom resolution.
-
Haha, well... It's working now, but I don't know if it was Hoff's solution that fixed or not, cause I always thought the resolution would be placed behind all x32 resolutions, but it wasn't. Both 1366x768x16 and 1366x768x32 were placed behind the x16 resolutions, for some reason.. But anyway, I have the right resolutions now.
Thanks for the help everybody :)
