I wanted to play GTA IV after a long break
from it and it keeps saying about the fatal error RMN30. I have Windows Vista, Home Premium, Service pack 2, 32 bit.
I have tried every compatibility (I turned UAC off). I've watched several topics from people who have this
too at other forums but I saw no solutions at all that actually help. I have tried going to SP1 but that didn't work either, for some really weird reason. I have reinstalled it twice and no result, now I'm retrying it again with UAC on and reinstalling IV for the third time cuz I'm desperate.

Google it, I did with all my errors and found the solutions, there's a site somewhere with a list of them all.
I think over at gtaf most of the errors are listed.
-
That list has the fucking lamest solution ever, and I have googled of course.
The only solution is something about XP or windows server 2003 but I got Vista so doesn't help a shit.
-
have you tried DELETING your GTA IV folder and user files (if those exist) before re-installing ?
-
Not that. But now I need service pack 1 to install it all again, ARGH.
-
install W7 and try again.

Never.

w7 owns vista.

w7 owns vista.
true, i was a vista user and after upgrading to windows 7 I think w7 is really much better

My mom has a laptop with W7 and i sometimes use it, can't really tell there's a difference though. Just a bit faster and a new theme, that's all.
