Title: Near infrared photograph
Post by: Tim on October 30, 2008, 01:34:16 PM
The reason you're stil seeing color is that the infraredfilter i used still allows some normal light to hit the camera's sensor. Picture was taken on the seaside in Holland.

Nikon D70s + Hoya Infrared filter, 20 mm Nikkor lens

Tell me what you think.

Edit:

I converted this one to black & white in Adobe Lightroom. I'm less pleased on how this one turned out, but it's still  one of the better shots from that day.

I didnt want to put the 8 mb raw file on here

If you're referring to the slight 'unsharpness' of the picture, that's because a very slow shutterspeed (2 sec) is needed to get enough light through. And although the camera wasn't moving (on a tripod) the grass was moving.

Thanks for the comment

First photo is amazing, I'm guessing that was a fairly long 3 sec + shutter speed?  Love the way some of the bushy stuff is blurred, makes it look really professional (Y).

Any chance to get the third picture in 1900x1020? I'd like to make a wallpaper out of it, and 1900x1020 is a good 16:10 resolution.
