How about giving the new posts image a color?

spot the difference...  I m sure there would be more activity if you could instantly see which sections have new posts. Try coloring parts of it in a catchy red or yellow.

No. Asking for a new theme may say that you're getting bored of seeing the same theme all the time, doesn't mean you don't like it.
