txdworkshop has a virus?
Apparently. It also infected cmd.exe, no worries though since I got cmd back from my brothers computer.
-
LOL
-
Got rid of 5 more viruses on an external harddrive.

seriously, sooo bad Nice one SL

Thats not even bad, on my old PC I had like twice of that viruses on my quarantine.
-
I've got 84 viruses in my quarantine, they can't fit on my screen.
-
I guess most people on here have like 100 or more viruses without knowing it. They either won't start or work so you won't see them, or they simply work as a trojan so you can't see them
Most of your warnings seem to be packer related and its not an actual virus, the stuff in the system restore is duplicated because the virus is copied in each system-restore-backup
-
As long as my system is working to my standards, I couldn't care less.

Fact.

Delete all the System Restore points and then scan your computer on Safe Mode with all the scanners you have. Also use your brains on some cases, for example TXD Workshop ain't/doesn't include a virus.

I couldn't care less if TXD workshop is or isnt a virus. I don't use it anyhow. I boot scanned my computer instead of safe mode.

You don't have to use the actual program in order to activate the virus. That's a bad attitude, it just tells that you don't care about your PC's safety.
You scanned with...?
-
you cruel cruel man, storm!!! you dont care about your pc's safety! im gonna tell child.. uhhh pc support bout this.

If the viruses is annoying and you got proof very wierd things is happening with your computer I will say as everyone else (if you can't get rid of them): Format your HDD. If the viruses still show up there is another format method you can try, but I have never tried it myself.
1* The first form of formats, the normal form just causes your data to become inactive, it will dissapear when other data takes it place. So when you do a normal format for the first time all the space labeled "Free" is actually inactivated old data that cannot activate itself. But some viruses is prone to not get deactivated by a normal format.
2* The other form of format is done using special programs that you boot with a cd in the beginning of starting computer, they work by making a troughout delete, aka they delete the data for real so your hardware practically becomes like it was when you bought it. Aka it nukes your HDD and your files is gone forever erternity, not a single program in the world will be able to find any inactive files in the data because the HDD has practically become Fabritical reseted.
I'm not sure about the second format mode, but I think it was so it works.
Tip: Just because your virus scanner find a virus and labels it Trojan, dosen't mean it have to be dangerous.
It could just be a distraction, or just made to scare people.

I disagree.

I disagree.
I agree (with Joe)
Gird3r:
- Even data which was zero'd out before can be recovered unless you zero it out about 1000 times.
- Virus will usually affect the OS and not even reach the hardware level. Therefore you have to make sure your OS is in original state and your startup list must be fine (not only autorun, but also msconfig, registry, drivers, ... all that kind of stuff on windows)
- Format is just the last way to escape, I never had to format cause of a virus or so.
- If a file is labeled as trojan it probably is. However, some applications use techniques similar to these which a virus would use which results in wrong matches, so don't delete instantly, but doublecheck everything manually.
//Edit: Ever opened a brand new HDD in an hex-editor? They usually have old data on them which comes from testing or firmware installation, I wouldn't call that clean, but whatever floats your boat...
- Only because an application like a game is labeled as virus, don't say: "Its a wrong match - I know its clean", another virus could have replaced the exe or might only have modified it.
- The annoying virus are these which come up with popups or so BUT
- The dangerous virus are those which you don't see, they can easily attack your network and spy online banking details or private data.
-
Just to add on to what Fox said, your information about formatting a hard drive is wrong. A hard drive marks the disk, so it will never be the same as when it was first manufactured (even before testing like Fox said).

I never said anything about using programs to activate it? What the fuck are you on about?
I said I don't use TXD workshop AT ALL, MEANING I DONT FUCKING USE THE PROGRAM.
Why I havn't deleted it a long time ago is beyond me.
you cruel cruel man, storm!!! you dont care about your pc's safety! im gonna tell child.. uhhh pc support bout this.
I lol'd.

If TXD Workshop would include a keylogger for example, you would have an active keylogger (doesn't matter if you don't use the actual program).
"I said I don't use TXD workshop AT ALL, MEANING I DONT FUCKING USE THE PROGRAM."
That's what I just spoke about, you don't have to "fucking use the program" in order to have the keylogger on your HDD.
-
For fucks sake, you don't understand SHIT of what I mean do you? I'm saying I don't give a fuck that it was deleted. That's what I MENT from the START.
Besides this topic isn't even about me trying to "get rid of" viruses, they're already gone.. I just wanted to post it since I havn't had this many viruses for about 4 years and I thought it was funny.
-
...alright then.
