Well right now i'm running on my brothers laptop with my monitor + keyboard + mouse plugged into it. My computer is fucking dead, and I have no clue why. I turned it off and went to take a bath and when I came back I turned it back on and nothing showed up on the screen. So I unplugged everything and plugged it back in. And then the fan started spinning faster and nothing happened still, so now i'm resorted to using my brothers shitty ass laptop, any ideas to WHY it's not showing shit?
When I turned it on the fan started spinning fast, then the CD LED started blinking and then nothing.

really can't tell you anything,
by looking at it i would say its a graphics card issue because if you say nothing is showing up on the screen but the fans are spinning, do you know if you have integrated graphics or not? if you do i would suggest pooping in a graphics card and seeing what happens, if not then try switching the GPU u have now with another one and see if you get a signal to ur monitor, if you do then u know it was the graphics card, if not then its something else but i would be sure it is from the "symptoms" you described above.
Find the CMOS jumper on the motherboard and reset it. It should be somewhere near the battery.
and i hope your friend dies in a house fire
ok maybe i made that last part up, but the cmos thing is what he said.

I hope your friend dies in a house wtf

Don't take your computer in the bath obviously.

Didn't work. My CMOS didn't have a jumper so I looked up on google about it and it told me to try to reinsert the battery, and of course that didn't work either. So fuck it, i'll just have to get a new one in a few months, and until then use this shitty laptop. And the fan is spinning FASTER than normal. Plus my graphics card is on the motherboard so I don't think I can do shit about it. =/
And to the rest of you fucking idiots, if you don't have anything to say about my problem then FUCK OFF!
-
Oh....just curious...your motherboard wouldn't be an Asus, would it?
-
Wouldn't know. It's something from nvidia I think.
-
When you remove the battery don't put it back in for like another 30 seconds...

uhh, ok. trying that.
Edit: nope.

Have no clue then bro man dude =( could be a million things, you're just gunna have it to take it to some shop so they can charge you £1000 and tell you your mobo broke, your graphics card burned out and your cpu died...
-
When my fans spin fast, it means the heat sink on my CPU is no longer connected, mostly due to the fact I've taken it off.
See if that's your problem.

Eh?
Does your computer boot though? >_>
I'm gonna get a job somehow or do work and get $390 something and buy a new one.
I was actually saving up for one now, but I was hoping i'd still have the one that broke. >_>

i think you should stop sticking your penor in your computer
you probably came on your cpu and fried it

We tryed reinserting the ram, and we put them back in exactly, so unless a ghost flipped my ram around I fail to see how that would be it. :S

I tryed flipping the ram around and it wouldn't even fit in there, so how the hell did you get that fucked up?
Well my plan is to buy a new computer for $398, then install my old harddrive then install drivers for whatever that computer has. Would it work well? =/
-
dont sorry storm i have really no idea
-
Either SOMETHING in this fucking house is frying computers or some shit is up, cause now my fucking brothers laptop just died so I am now stuck without a computer. The one i'm on now is Justin's and he's asleep so thats the only fucking time I can use it.
Edit:
Nevermind, apparently it must of got overheated. Never had a laptop nor delt with one so I didn't really know. =[
-
I'm no expert either, but it strikes me as a power supply problem. Only way of testing really is to buy a new 260W (or higher) box and see if that corrects the problem.

Honestly i'm starting to think it's this power thing too. I'm getting a new comp monday hopefully. And i'm gonna plug it into something differen't.

Happened to me to storm, just get someone's pwr supply you know and plug it in and see if it'll run. Mine did that and ran for like 6 months. Then my motherboard failed... -_-
-
Hmm . I had the same problem . Try to unplug your monitor wait 10/20 secs. Maybe helps . Didn't help to me actually . Then the IT dood came with some big wire . He changed it . It was plugged in my DVD ROM . And it worked again . Maybe it was beacause of my new DVD ROM.
-
same thing happened to me, was a corrupted stick of ram.

Can't be bothered.

My whole computer was unplugged for over 24 hours, if the problem was that simple wouldn't I be on it by now?

Knowing my luck it's prolly all fried. >_>
