Title: [WIP]StormLexer's Weather
Post by: Cody on May 06, 2008, 01:32:21 AM
StormLexer Projects
Date Started: Tuesday, May 6th, 2008
Date Finished: Work In Progress
Final name: Unknown

StormLexer's Weather Config

Help me help you:
I would like to know your opinions on the following questions, to help better the mod.

Q: When nightfall comes, would you like the draw distance to be lowered, so you can't see buildings from extreamly far away.

Q: Would you like "Stormy" to be hard rain with lots of wind on the trees, ect? ( There will still be normal "rain", just so you know. )

Q: When it's sunny, would you want the draw distance encreased more or left normal?

Q: What else do you think would be good?

Things i'm using:
VC.Config Weather
Data Tool for Timecyc editing
Partical.txd modification

Thanks. This mod will prolly take a while and i'm willing to have people help me if anyone wants to help.

well since it seems like realisticness is the mission here everythign sounds good. But wouldnt you have to adjust he anims for the trees to bend and sway, and since there not solid wouldnt you also need to maek a .col for them? (i know nothign about this buisness.... dont kill me!)

1. Yes
2. Not alot of wind, but mildly heavy rain
3. Increased, not quite 10x, but far
4. Umm... well blended and realistic colors?

Wrong. That's what VC.Config is for if I can properly figure it out.

3. It'd prolly be far enough that you could see the brown building in downtown from i dunno maybe the white building that demonfade landed in a MS video.

another nice touch would be removing the brown ... underground colour

also blaze thats the particle.txd <_<... plus you actually get them in real life..

duering the day don't make it a better draw distance imo, the stock VC dd is hella far as i.. but at night try n reduce it

Not really related to the project but in my SA, the road fades into black some way in front of me. Draw distance is on full. Do you know why this happens, Mr Weatherman?

I heard from some people on SAMP that it was to add "depth" into the game or something.

Your animated sigs and avas prevent me from doing anything aswell. Seriously, look at them. They just keep swaying back and forth, back and forth... He keeps whirring his head round and round... I'M SUPPOSED TO BE DOING SOSE GOD DAMN

So anyway, I might consider raping you for a Spiengraph 2 timecyc.

Q: When nightfall comes, would you like the draw distance to be lowered, so you can't see buildings from extreamly far away.

A: Yes, but only a bit. Like 20% less then the original draw distance.

Q: Would you like "Stormy" to be hard rain with lots of wind on the trees, ect? ( There will still be normal "rain", just so you know. )

A: The wind should be a bit more then the original. The rain left normal.

Q: When it's sunny, would you want the draw distance encreased more or left normal?

A: I would use 50% more than the original.

Q: What else do you think would be good?

A: Add matching colors to the different weathers.
