go for the cannon dude, the sensor may be a little big smaller but the D80 has a 3fps full auto while the 40D has massive 6.5fps. that alone makes it a better camera.

but either way, your going to wind up buying a nice zoom lens, the stock lens isnt always the greatest but the stock that came with my canon rebel XT came with a 18-50mm lens which zooms out quiet nicely

i just bought a 75-300 for $200 at ritz

Yes i  liked that canon too!!

BUT

nikon lenses is cheaper!

I'll probably will buy just a body! couse i have one Kit lense (18 -55 )
I'll probably will buy Canon 24 -105 f 2.8 L lense!!
But deeeam that all together will cost so fucking  MUCH!!

I've always liked canon's I use a 350D at the moment, which does the job for me. If I was to consider getting a new camera it would be a canon. But in the end your the one buying it.
