So I spend a few hours waiting for it to render, it gets to about 80% and cancels saying it was unable to render the file. Eveytime the file is 3.99 GB. I have 150 odd GB free. Any suggestions?

I don't think I'll ever be able to render it then, I always close as many processes as I can before I render.

And you tried setting your bitrate much higher? like 5.

and re-recording your stuff at 80%?

You don't set bitrate on an uncompressed codec.
And THEFTman I can render that bit of the video fine in any other format/settings etc so I'm pretty sure its the whole RAM problem

Try the CCESP patched version off Huffyuv: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=496973#post496973 (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=496973#post496973)
Rename huffyuv_ccesp-patch_0.2.5.dll to huffyuv.dll and copy it over the existing huffyuv.dll in your Win9x\System or WinNT\System32 directory.

Thanks Daffy, I'll try that tommorrow

Bump, that patch didn't work.
If I rendered the video in 2 parts would there be anyway I could put them together in the .mkv? (I know nothing about .mkvs atm, still getting to learn them.)
-
You could, when you open mkvtoolnix import the first part and then click where it says "append".
