Title: Why does Vegas 8 suck?
Post by: finallight on March 25, 2008, 07:10:47 PM: The only difference I have noticed in Vegas 8 that makes it suck is the interface. They flipped it so the preview box is on top, like most other video editing software. I dislike it.

What do you think makes Vegas 8 suck?

If you want to make the interface look like in the previous Vegas' :

Options / preferences / display / display timeline at bottom of main window (change it)

Second thing is that most of new features that were added into Vegas 8 are DVD and Blu-Ray stuff, nothing else.

So if you're searching for the smooth and stable editing program for XP, use Vegas 7.
It also have alot of plugins that weren't converted for Vegas 8

And for those ones who would like to have the outputwindow at the bottom again,
just go to Options->Preferences->Display->uncheck "...timeline at bottom..." and thats it, the old vegas view.

Give it a try its a good one.

I don't get errors, but I am using it with XP dont no but if you use it with Vista, than its a vista problem. If not Did you have installed Vegas 7 or an earlier version, and please don`t insatll the media manager, because it is really crap. You definitley will get errors by using the media manager.

I think there a no new effects, but you got a multicamera tool, and several new output possibilitys.
But If you like Vegas 7 or 6 you don't have to get Vegas 8.

Like I said you can move boxes, but only from left to the right. And you cant move the timeline. So you cant just by moving set vegas 8 to the vegas 7 with timeline at the top and preview window at the bottom.
