I need help with my pc, the problem is this:
First off, I'm often listening to music, so I always have Windows Media Player running, just to let you know. So, when I play VC/LC, everything works fine. The problem is when it comes to SA, when I've played like an hour straight, or something like that, the pc freeze and the music freeze. So I gotta restart the computer, and almost every time it runs some weird HDD check, I don't know how I should explain it but it's a lightblue screen with some texts about what system the HDD runs at (FAT32 in this case), and some processing thing (%), it takes like 2 minutes to complete the process and when it's done it's alot of numbers of how much space the HDD is on, how much space it's left, how much space is used and that kind of stuff.
So, the point is, I wanna solve the problem that causes the pc to freeze, I have no idea what it can be, but it doesn't freeze while playing VC/LC or Counter Strike (the only games I have).
Thanks, Ralleee

HDD checking is actually your PC solving errors because of incorrect reboot. It's alright, don't cancel it, and don't mind it.
Well, as for your problem, I seriously don't know. I suggest you using iTunes tho, best player ever.

Well, it shouldn't solve the problem since I it doesn't freeze while playing VC/LC or Counter Strike

I've had a similar (if not the same) problem for a while now. It's my (system) hard drive which is overheating after a heavy use. You should watch the temps of it.
Speedfan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php) is a handy small tool for viewing your comp's temps.
-
Can you also change the fan speed? Since if it's heating problem, I can turn up some fans so it works
-
Aye, but the problem would be with the hard drive and I doubt any fans can help you in that situation.
Hehe...between my two posts I had another overheating shutdown. Luckily there's a freezer!

By the way, I forgot to say this, when I was running Windows Vista it was working correctly, only that I was lagging a bit more, but that should just make it worse. So yeah, it worked fine with Windows Vista

Try to get Winamp it pwns

This might not be he right answer, but here's a tips when you get a black screen while playing a game, or the game freezing and you can't return to detskop:
(Might be old but for those who don't know it)
Game freezes/Black Screen; screen's not working but the computer "behind" is!
Press this buttons: Windows symbol, Ctrl+Alt+Del, Tab, Shift, Left, Shift.
The game will quit and you get safely back to windows

No worries about this problem anymore. I've installed Vista again, and when I ran that before XP it didn't have any problems running SA, but thanks for the support

Yeh, use i -tunes, but dont use it when your playin, this shit sucks CPU usage, easy solution, put your music in the user files radio station .. then you have less processing running and should make less crashes / freezing ..
