I need help, please, I can't play 1280x720 HQ videos without them lagging and being out of sync.
-Dell Dimension 2400-
Intel Celeron 2.4GHz
768MB DDR SDRAM
GeForce FX 5500 256MB
What's weird is that I could watch the HQ of both Interlocked, and Amped 2 on a Dell Dimension 3000 with the same specs as above only with an on board 96mb Intel card instead, but that same computer could not run VC and SA as well as my current one, so what's wrong?
I can also record 1280x720 in VC using the 15 fps thing and I can play the XQ of Unbroken without lag =/

.mkv?
-
I don't know for sure, but my geuss is your ram + CPU. My old PC was faster then your current and it also didn't like that kind of vids.
-
I cant even watch movies without lagging, or that my computer wouldn't response :/
-
My guess would be your vid card drivers, the newest ones from nvidia might not be compatible with your vid card so maybe downgrade? Anyways ask around the nvidia forums they might help you out.

.mkv?
If i remember good .mkv puts higher load on the cpu than other stuff.

I don't think I can do anything about the CPU at the moment, but a RAM upgrade couldn't hurt.

Could that work? I'll try it soon.

Well what drivers do you have? You can't get drivers that are too new for your video card because on the nvidia drivers website, it asks for the model of the video card, and gives you a download link to the ones that are the best for your video card.

Hope this helps
Oh, and I really can't explain why your old video card was able to play the HQ versions of Interlocked and Amped 2, but your new one can't...

I just upgraded the drivers, but they didn't help the HD vid problem.
I'm playing the vids with Media Player Classic, K-lite codec pack.
-
If i'm right i remember the celeron CPU's don't have Cache that means its slower, second i remember daffy the rip master told me that if you run CoreAVC along with Haali splitter on WMP and have a pc like "P4 2,66GHZ 1GB ram" you should be fine but i dont think your pc is gonna handle 720p even with CoreAVC i'm sorry man :/
-
that's too bad

http://cccp-project.net/ (http://cccp-project.net/)
download that codec pack and watch the videos using the media player that it installs with it (Zoom media player)
-
I've already tried that codec pack, thanks anyway.

There isn't really much more you can do other than upgrade your hardware, but try ending all of your background processes in Task Manager and closing out of all applications and then try playing the video. This might help a little bit...
-
xD damn
-
You sure
watch using zoom damnit
-
I tried it now, and it did actually help a bit. Now the video doesn't lag, but the audio and video are still un-synced. The video goes slow while the audio goes at regular speed.
I like this Zoom, Brainkiller, and I will use it from now on, thank you.
-
The reason why Zoom doesn't lag is because it skips the frames or some of the bitrate it can't handle which also makes the audio go out of sync as it has a much lower bitrate and Zoom is able to keep up with the audio stream.
My best advice would be to get CoreAVC (or FFDShow if you don't use cracked software) along with Haali Media Splitter (splits the audio from the video stream so players like WMP are able to decode the video properly) and AC3Filter (it reduces miss-syncs by forcing some kinda no-lag magic).

I'm pretty sure I already have those things, they came with CCCP.
