Title: Game Over: A first video
Post by: Zencal on December 16, 2007, 01:05:15 PM
Right, first of all this is a first video for me and my friend torin. We realise that alot of the stunts are old, but we just want to have fun. We also do try to find our own stnts, but alot of the time we find out that our stunts have been found before. Also we know the intro sucks.

Well now that you've read that, comments are appreciated, as well as constructive criticism. We hope you enjoy it and comment. Also we know that alot of the clips lag alot, sorry that we do't have amazing PC's   Oh and sorry the only link is streaming.

I think this is extremely good for a first vid. 9/10 Only because is don't like the music and the camera views. You can get more far out views if you hold down both of your mouse buttons during replays. While you keep it pressed down you move the mouse back and forth so you can control zoom.

This was a nice vid, the editing wasn't really my taste, but overall, great for a first vid.

Good job!

Pretty good for a first.
Loved the bump2bridge in SF
Editing was OK, but some stunts weren't that visible.
Couldn't hear the song cause I have no speakers.
But real smooth guys, keep up. ^^

8/10

Really bad video, all stunts old, old name, bad music, bad camera-angles..

Even when video is first it dont mean its your first times at stunting. And i just cant stand old stunts. Those all stunts were used like 20times before.

^Nice constructive criticism mate  . They pointed it out in the first post that the stunts were old. And because you couldn't stand that kind of thing so much you watched the video anyway, forcing your way through something you hate just so you can post something elitist like that. Why did you watch the video knowing this if not to act superior? Maybe the camera angles werent great, but you criticized them without telling them a specific example of a bad one and how it could be improved or linking them to a video that does it right

@Zencal: Sorry for the off topic. Thanks for sharing the video mate. Its good to see you are having some fun with your stunting, taking it too serious can result in the display from the post above me. It was a good first video, like alot of people these days you have grasped the basics and just need to work on pushing them more. Watch more stunt videos and get an idea of what is new and old as well. As for the video itself, try to focus on making the editing cleaner. Before adding any effects or cool transitions just get the clip synchronized with the music, have the powerful parts of the stunts (the bumps or landings) at the same time as the powerful points of the song and also try to cut between two clips with the beat. It will make your video easier to watch and is the first thing I do when editing.

Best of luck guys and I hope you continue to make videos and have fun with what you are doing. If you want to look at good examples of stunt videos the best area to start is the crew network. Crews of GTAS are established and always show the basics of stunt video making (although often they surpass them greatly as well  )

Thanks for the replys everyone. Thanks for the advice kr3mlin. I'll make sure to try those things in the future If we make another video. Oh and also thanks for the backup. kallesetae we stunt to enjoy ourselves and made the video for some fun, we don't care if it's all old.

Thanks for that Daneeka, even though it's a bit embarrassing we didn't actually know that  We will try alot more camera angles when recording next time, and actually save the replays instead of just recording on the spot so we can experiment.

Sorry if i was straight. Its gay to hide what you really think, i just say things straight, not rolling the bullshit. I just say what i feel of a video. When i don't like, i dont like; when i like, i like.. i can see some people here comment "Nice keep it going 'mate'." on every single video.
