Ok i goofed somewhere, my PC treats any S-ATA device like its Plug-and-Play so even my System Hard Drive appears in the 'safely remove hardware' window.
Thing is, my PC auto sets a default action for every PnP device, and i cant change what it set for my HDDs, so when i go to My Computer and double click my C or F drives, they dont Open, i have to Right-Click and select 'Open' or 'Explore'
How can i restore double-click? Its really annoying me now.

I also have a few drives in the 'safely remove hardware' - window
-
Yeah but mine set them as 'Autoplay - Take No Action' so when i click them, nothing happens
And i know where to change it, but whatever i set it as, it doesnt do anything.

You could try and install a driver for the HDD i had this with a IDE before, found a driver on the WD website installed it and everything went back to normal

Maybe the "goof" is in the BIOS somewhere? If not maybe in the registry?
-
I tried the BIOS with no luck, but at least i OCd while i was in there
I'll try registry, or googling 'autoplay hard drive remove'

Reinstall Windows...

Reinstall Linux...
Did you try to kick it out of the device manager and let it reinstall? Keep a bootcd ready by the way - you never know

Sorted it with TweakUI
Had to remove all traces of autorun.inf and linked files to it
