I just got a new PC and for some reason I have a problem... ill explain, it so far has happend with GTA San Andreas, Gta Vice City and Need For Speed Underground 2...
What happends is.. in VC and SA the game runs with 60 fps! so its like SUPERFAST!! I need to bring it down to 30 FPS ya know what i mean? and Need for Speed goes like.. normal for 5 seconds.. and then the frames go up for 5 seconds and its superfast again!
I really hope someone knows how to fix this problem because i havent been able to stunt or race sofar
Please help me! Thank you!!

just google once... also update your graphics driver. if you use an LCD just use 60hz - also this is the reason why a frame limiter can be found in pc games...
-
maybe you have Forced vertical sync or some shit on?
-
I really need a solution to the problem! I know close to nothing about computers
-
Did you set FL on in SA?

Start doing the things people tell you before you ask again.

I had the same problem, and there's only one way to solve it. The thing is you installed the display drivers given with the GFX card, which is not the right thing to do AT ALL. Even if you download the new drivers from the manufacter's website, it won't work.
The only thing to do is format your HDD and install the good drivers when it will be done.
-
.... or you could download driver cleaner pro
-
Believe me I tried many, many stuff to avoid formatting and it just didn't work.
-
You have got to be shitting me! IM DOOMED!!

I don't believe in this sentence
If we are talking about drivers here, windows drivers to be exact, there is no way, that they are firmwares too. Also the HDD is not linked to windows in any form..
-
When i download the driver from Nvidia.com and start the install.. this comes up..
-
Then select the correct driver next time -.-
I mean, nvidia imo has, after gamedev and fedora one of the best pages in the net. its so simple... click one box, do the next step etc. Then you get your download link. So just select your stupid card family/model.
-
run driver cleaner pro
restart
install drivers from the nvidia website
restart
enjoy
-
I will try that Feron thank you
Fox how can you even think that im stupid enough to download the wrong driver!!!!!
-
I m independent nvidia developer myself, and this is the exact message if the productid is not defined in the driver. So you MUST have downloaded a wrong driver or your motherboard / windows returns crap.
Try deleting the videocard in the devicemanager and reboot. Then install the new driver after.

Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm im a little confused right now..
I used Driver Cleaner Pro to delete Nvidia.. the weird thing is.. I did not reinstall it again.. and i seem to be able to play every game normal now!
WTF?
-
Ok.. 30 minutes of gaming later its back again at every game... I so dont know wat to do!
-
Maybe you should try the inofficial drivers from Guru 3D? Which gfx card do you have?
-

Yes, that is what happened when you update the drivers. You can play it normal for a bit, and then it starts again
Format your HDD and install the correct drivers =)

Nvidia Gforce 8600 GT
Curse you Makrame!
-
Why? Don't you have anything where you can backup the most important files? A complete format takes maybe an hour or less.
-
I would have to reinstall Windows and i dont have a key anymore
-
Maybe you should just listen to Fox, hes saying what you should do and you just ignore him.
