WTH is Arctic Silver V Compound?
I think its some kind of seringe or something..

Introducing Arctic Silver 5 With its unique high-density filling of micronized silver and enhanced thermally conductive ceramic particles, Arctic Silver 5 provides a new level of performance and stability. Now available at Arctic Silver dealers worldwide, Arctic Silver 5 is definitely The New Reference.
Arctic Silver 5 is optimized for use between modern high-power CPUs and high performance heatsinks or water-cooling solutions.
Arctic Silver 5 contains over 88% thermally Conductive filler by weight. In addition to micronized silver, Arctic Silver 5 also contains sub-micron zinc oxide, aluminum oxide and boron nitride particles. These thermally-enhanced ceramic particles improve the compound's performance and long-term stability.
Performance 3 to 12 degrees centigrade lower CPU full load core temperatures than standard thermal compounds or thermal pads when measured with a calibrated thermal diode imbedded in the CPU core.
The 3.5 gram tube contains enough compound to cover at least 15 to 25 small CPU cores, or 6 to 10 large CPU cores, or 2 to 5 heat plates. At a layer 0.003" thick, the 3.5 gram tube will cover approximately 16 square inches.

Wow you guys are helpful...
-
everything is looking pretty good man, although SLI ready memory is just a waste of time, and you would be so much better off buying a pair of Gskill HZ's instead.
and the arctic freezer isnt THAT great, go for a Zalman CNPS9500 or CNPS9700, or even a Thermalright 120 Extreme if your that serious about overclocking. But the Zalman ones are more than enough.
other than that, nice build
-
IMO i'd go for the BFG 8800 GT and a BFG 680i motherboard, Asus stuff gives me nothing but trouble, my old motherboard had no working internet connection half the time, turns out its a common asus problem.
EDIT: I have the exact same RAM and CPU as you're getting, good choice It works a charm, the SLi ready memory can be fine tuned, and with a supporting mobo, like the BFG 680i, you can indipentantly overclock CPU/memory, and still keep the SLI ready profiles running, which a lot of motherboards dont do.
-
why would he want SLI ready memory for a motherboard that doesnt even support SLI?
...and SLI ready memory cant do DDR2-1000 @ 4-4-4-12
this is the ram you want:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231065 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231065)
and dont go for the 680i like impakt says, the P35 chipset is a MUCH better overclocker, so keep that P5K motherboard that you picked out
-
Thanks but I wanna keep the products from the same site and Aria do not sell that RAM
-
It looks good, good luck with building it, and hopefully it will work
-
Good luck with this great assembling.

Why would you pay so much for that ram when you can get practically the same thing for $100 less?

Or you can get these, they can overclock to PC2 8500 speeds with ease:

Thanks for the info but new egg is American, I will have to look for them brands on UK sites

thats not the same ram. you obviously dont know how well HZ's overclock
why would the price be higher?
-
Hes getting a E6750, he wont need ram speeds above 1066mhz. Paying $130+ is pointless when you can get the same thing for $100. Even not running in 1-1 anything over 1066mhz wont make much of a difference, and I doubt the HZ's will go higher then that anyways, (Maybe a bit above PC2 8800 1100mhz if you get a nice set.) although they probably are able to get that high easier. Either way 900mhz will be fine unless hes planing on going over like 3.8ghz, which he wont be even coming close to doing with that cooler. If you have read some articles about high end ram you would have realized that high end ram is quite pointless since current CPU formulas are not demanding enough to take full advantage of the extra speed.
-
alot of people have gotten DDR2-1000 @ 4-4-4-12 with HZ's
oh and it doesnt mean he has to reach 1000, it just means he can lower his multi and go over 400 fsb and still have tight 4-4-4-12 timings
-
Why would he need to lower his multiplier? What are the benefits of running lower then 8? 400x7 =2.8GHz and I hardly call that a worthy over clock. But with that shitty cooler I doubt hes going to reach much higher then that anyways. Hes got some open options as for RAM I guess. I don't think the one he picked out is that bad anyways. SLI mode will only give a benefit on a SLI mobo, so your basically paying extra for a feature you cant use, but if your getting a good deal its not going to hurt you if your using a motherboard that does not support SLI right?
-
if he lowers his multi he can run his ram at fast speeds at a 1:1 ratio and still mantain 4-4-4-12 timings
how is that a bad thing professor cory?
and the P35 chipset is known to easily break 500 fsb, so 500x7=3.5ghz, or 500x8=4.0ghz
-
Yeah, I am sure he will be reaching 4.0ghz with that cooler. Don't waste your money, and dont listen to brandon. Go with some decent $80-100 ram from a brand on your QVL of your mobo. If you want to reach 4.0ghz I doubt its going to be with that cooler. But you wont need more then 960mhz if you want to break 3.8 which is what most E6750 max out on. You need to be really lucky to even get 4.0ghz. But then again this is all hypothetical and I doubt your going to do some serious over clocking.
-
he doesnt need to hit 4.0ghz
for example, im running 450x7=3.15ghz, and my ram is at DDR2-900 @ 4-4-4-12
the point is the higher ram speeds he can have the faster his pc will be, and he can keep his tight 4-4-4-12 timings
-

he doesnt need to hit 4.0ghz you stupid fuck

If you have read anything about ram, ram speed don't do shit compared to CPU speed. There no point in spending a fuck load of money on ram. DDR3 at 2GHz doesn't even offer a near 8% increase in performance. Its a waste of money. He could take the extra money he would save by getting cheaper ram and invest in a Q6700 or 6600. But if you look at his post you can obviously tell he is on a budget.

HZ's > NQ's
my work here is complete.

FERON'S WINS! K.O

shat bat
BTW nice job editing out that part where you called me a stupid fuck, but yet it remains in my quote. but yeah its a good idea to edit your bad stuff before you report someone right?
-
Your both truely sad for arguing about such things. Totally ignoring what Dan was even talking about in the first place.
Newegg is american, he cant get that.
-
Thanks Aries I know most of you were trying to help, except Barney wtf how is that helping anyone. Please can an admin remove that post or edit it.
Also I wont be planning to overclock much Maybe 3.2 GHZ it depends how far it can go and still be stable. And about the cooler many people here think its shit but on a buildyourown pc site it is favourited by all the pro computer builders and has many great reviews.
-
wow, u must be a millionaire
-
Lol? £700?

Oh I was unaware that OCZ, G-Skill, or Crucial was unavilable in Europe. Sorry for the Newegg links, but thats where I buy parts from. I don't really know any good Euro sites but I am sure if they are good they will have those brands at least. Anyways Dan, sorry about that cooler. I looked at its form and price and just kind of rejected it. I was going to look at some paged reviews but I noticed you took it off. I figured if its highly regarded on a forum, and your going to a decent hardware forum and listening to the people there you should have a nice build. Sorry for my argument with brandon, but I like to fuck with him so either way I was gonna say what I wanted. Is this your first build btw?
-
Yes it is my first build, also about the cooler the price is not to bad so I will get that see how it runs and if im not satifised I will go for the cooler you have suggested. OCZ and Crucial are avalible just not the G-Skill. If you can find some decent RAM from http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Memory/ (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Memory/) please post the link. Thanks for the help
-
I honestly think the ram you picked is fine.
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/...productId=27958 (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Memory/DDR2/DDR2+800+%28PC6400%29/Corsair+2GB+PC2-6400+C4+XMS2+%282x1GB%29+?productId=27958)
That is nice as well. Read some paged reviews before making your final choice. That is SLi ready as well. It wont effect anything. All SLi ready does is allows you to overclock easier because you can use the EPP profiles. Not having them is no loss, since most overclockers use Intel boards.

Why what is being released? plus if you always wait for something new to be released you will never end up getting anything
